Secret Ingredient Chili

As written, this chili is way too sour/tomatoey tasting. I was so disappointed. But then I got online and someone suggested adding more cocoa powder. It took 2 Tablespoons more before the acidity was gone. Once gone, it's really good!! I served with cheddar, sourcream and tortilla chips.

Grandma's Five Cup Salad

This is so good! I made this the first time using yogurt because of the reviews and didn't like it. I'm so glad I made it again like it calls with the sour cream because it's so much better. Don't change it!

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

I like this soup! I don't get where people are saying 4 cups of vegetable stock will make it too soupy. I am glad I didn't do that. I made as written except added celery salt, garlic powder and a bit more chile powder. Nice, filling, low-cal lunch!

Sausage Cheese Balls

I made these exactly as the recipe states. They were impossible to shape into balls so I read the reviews and added an egg and some milk. Much easier to roll. Baked them up and they were terrible. Not one person thought they were good. I used good quality sausage so it wasn't that. Just not our thing I guess.

Crescent Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels

These were not inedible, but they were not fantastic either. The ranch flavor is non-existant. They were very dry. I see that some people used the chive flavored cream cheese, that may help the flavor some. Won't make these again.

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Wish I could rate this 10 stars! My picky 12 year old told me, "You better get on Allrecipes and tell them that this was AWESOME syrup. You shouldn't ever buy the bottled stuff again." I followed the recipe exactly. Good thing I doubled the waffle recipe so we can enjoy this again tomorrow!

I have made this 4 times in 3 weeks! I love it. I really, really dislike mushrooms so this recipe is perfect for me. Try this, you will never use canned soup to make green bean casserole again.

Loose Meat on a Bun, Restaurant Style

My kids LOVED these sandwiches. Bought good buns to serve them on and they needed nothing else! It took an hour for my broth to cook off so give yourself some time when preparing.

Wake-Up Casserole

The firstl meal in 5 nights that everybody liked! I did cook the hashbrowns for 10 minutes extra. Don't skip the ground mustard, it is what makes this special.

Oh So Good Pork Chops

This was really good! The chops were nice and tender and the gravy was delicous. When I first whisked together the gravy ingredients the smell of the vinegar scared me a little bit. It seemed strong. But I went with it and am so glad I didn't try and do something to "fix" it because it was just perfect.

Hearty Hash Brown Soup

I liked this! I usually make the top rated potato soup recipe on this site but one night I was short on time and needed something quick. I tried this recipe and was very happy with it. I will admit that I did a few things different but nothing major. I used diced hash brown potatoes, skipped the onion because I was out and didn't use the celery seed since I don't like it. Also didn't have any bacon but it would make a great addition. I was skeptical about using the canned soup but it really gave good flavor. I will make this again.

Spaghetti Pie II

I liked this a lot. The kids really liked it as well and told me this is how they want me to make spaghetti from now on. The reason I only gave it four stars is because I didn't like the tomato mixture on top as well as I think I would like jarred spaghetti sauce. Next time I will make it using Prego.

Hot Bean Dip

This was really good! I love how easy it is to put together and the taste is great! I know this sounds odd but use baby carrots instead of tortilla chips to use up the leftovers. It is really good and lots healthier.

Butterfinger Chunkies

These are AMAZING cookies! Very good. Make sure you only use the WHITES of the egg. Also, using parchment paper is a must. LEAVE THE COOKIES ON THE SHEET TO COOL. If you don't they will fall apart. I chopped my butterfingers in pretty large chunks and that is the way to go. If you chop them up too fine you are just going to have a regular peanut butter cookie. Mine were not greasy at all. I used real butter and store brand chunky peanut butter.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

I really, really liked this!! I think if would be great over some nacho chips with all the fixings. My kids all 3 liked this and that surprised me. It made for a great sandwich that was full of flavor.

Taco Pasta Salad

This recipe knocked my socks off! I really loved it. I made it exactly as written. This is a salad that is a meal. My kids all liked it and I served it at a potluck and everyone there thought it was really good. One word of advice, the lettuce gets soggy so if you are planning to have leftovers (like I always do...makes for a great lunch!) maybe leave the lettuce out on the side and add it to each serving for extra freshness.

Cheesy Ranch New Red Potatoes

I liked these pretty well. I almost think that I would rather spread a little butter with some salt and pepper and then add the cheese. The ranch just didn't seem to fit in warm. Next time I will do the butter thing and add a bit of bacon.
