Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
Wonderful cake. Not quite enough at this scale to make a high cake in that size pan. I scaled it for 18 servings and it's just right. I used the whipped cream cream cheese frosting on this website and added about 1 teas. of cinnamon to the frosting. FABULOUS!!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Wonderful> I especially liked the sugar & cinnamon mixture inside the pan before you put the batter in. This was a huge hit. It took longer to bake though. I used pecans instead of walnuts.

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
Wonderful recipe! I tried it with 3 different liqueurs: Rum, Cream de Cacao, & Kahlua. My family & others choose the Rum to be the best. I also doubled the coffee/liqueur mixture and found it to be better. I tried it with home made lady fingers and store bought(soft) and prefer the store bought. Next time I'll try the firmer ladyfingers. I also used espresso rather than strong coffee with better results. I agree that bringing the mascarpone to room temp makes it easier to mix with the egg mixture.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
This is a wonderful recipe. I followed the instructions to the letter including adding the chopped peanuts (rather than using chunky like others suggested). Jackie is correct when she recommends that you NOT overbake these cookies. I accidentally left a sheet in the oven a little longer and they were pretty dry.

This is fabulous chili. I will never use a different recipe. I used Pace picante sauce as suggested by the writer but I couldn't find Williams Chili mix so I used Lawrys.

Pecan Pie Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Why only 5 stars??? This is a wonderful recipe. I used others suggestions to not use papers in my muffin pan. I used Pam & dusted with sugar. I made some this morning to take to work and they were gone as soon as I entered the office. I wouldn't change a thing. If you made them as full size muffins they might be too rich. With the mini muffin size you can almost pretend that there are no calories...almost!

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This soup is fabulous. I made a huge pot and took it to a Lenten Soup supper potluck and it was gone in no time. Don't cut out the green onions & bacon. Without them it's a good soup. With them it's a great soup.

David's Yellow Cake

Excellent yellow cake recipe. I used the mixing advice from other reviewers for this cake and beat the sugar & eggs a lot. The batter turns out thick but the cake has a very moist texture.

Cream Cheese Squares

There should be more stars for this recipe. Five stars simply isn't enough. I took these to a reception and I had to print up 30 copies of the recipe to give out to people. They stormed the platter. This ones a keeper.

Chocolate Ganache Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
This is a wonderful recipe. I've used it several times with the black bottom cupcake recipe and also with Sandy's chocolate cake (baked as a sheet cake)recipe both on this website. Let it cool well before using because it runs more when it's still warm.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

These cupcakes are fabulous. My only complaint is that their appearance when done is not too appealing. I frost them with the chocolate ganache frosting on this website and that solves the problem and also makes these cupcakes taste even better.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs

This is a wonderful recipe. Such good flavor. The only problem is that my slow cooker is too small so I baked the ribs in the oven at 200 degrees for the same amount of time. Finger-lickin good!!!

Wonderful frosting!!! I use this with the Sandy's chocolate cake recipe on this website baked as cupcakes. This frosting is so light & fluffy and not too sugary like most frostings.

This is a wonderful recipe. As others stated it is gooey and somewhat difficult to serve. I also had a difficult time finding the cake mix. I used Betty Crocker Butter Pecan Cake Mix.

This is great and very easy and impressive. The only change I made was to use marinated artichoke hearts rather than the plain ones. It added a little piquant zing.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
The cake was the best I've ever had however the frosting wasn't that great. The frosting had an odd tang because of the sour cream. Even though I love sour cream I didn't care for this frosting but I will make the cake again. I've made this as a sheet cake using the chocolate Ganache frosting on this website and gotten rave reviews and also as cupcakes using the Whipped cream cream cheese frosting also on this website and again received rave reviews with many requests for recipes. This is easily my go-to chocolate cake recipe when I want to impress. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe.
