About this Cook
I lived in the Chicago Area for most of my life and I am 47 years old. I moved to a small town in the Black Hills of South Dakota called Rochford Population about 8 people. Yes that was 8! When I lived in the Chicago area there was all kinds of ethnic grocery stores and restaurants just a few minutes away now the Closest Nice Grocery Store is 35 miles away. I just can't pick up the phone and order out and have something delivered sooooo...... I cook everyday and this website has been just FABULOUS help so I am not making the same thing all the time.
My favorite things to cook
I love anything MEXICAN and ITALIAN but I would have to say my favorite to make is "Marilyn's Cheesy Clam Chowder" I add a lot more ingredients than it calls for but everyone loves it! I make 18 quarts of it in November for our Soup Supper.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Again I have to bring up the Marilyn's Cheesy Clam Chowder every November.
My cooking triumphs
I catered a wedding rehearsal with my Husbands help and it turned out FABULOUS! Of course I used recipes from this site.
My cooking tragedies
Just the other day. Trying to make my own Hard Corn Tortillas Shells. They turned out a soggy oily mess! My mom used to make them and I should of payed more attention.

Marilyn's Cheesy Clam Chowder
This is the best!!! I actually put in more vegetables than the recipe calls for but thats just the way I cook. I never follow a recipe exact. Also I use Old Bay seasoning in it. and Real Cream! This is such a hit I make 18 quarts of it once a year for our soup supper. I actually have people give me money to make it for them. YUMMY!!

Turkey Enchiladas
This was very tasty. But I did fudge with the recipe a little bit. I heated up the turkey with a jar of medium salsa and a couple Tablespoons of Cream of Onion Soup. I Sauteed onions with some fresh mushrooms add some red pepper and paprika then added it to the turkey. I used Green Chili Enchilada sauce and a shredded mexican cheese mixture.
