Hello out there... I want to make the Guinness Chocolate Cheesecake but I have a question... Why do you have to put the spring form pan in water to cook it?  I never did that before, I'm just curious about what it does. MORE

I LOVE COOKING!
Still a Bears Fan!
About this Cook
I lived in the Chicago Area for most of my life and I am 47 years old. I moved to a small town in the Black Hills of South Dakota called Rochford Population about 8 people. Yes that was 8! When I lived in the Chicago area there was all kinds of ethnic grocery stores and restaurants just a few minutes away now the Closest Nice Grocery Store is 35 miles away. I just can't pick up the phone and order out and have something delivered sooooo...... I cook everyday and this website has been just FABULOUS help so I am not making the same thing all the time.
My favorite things to cook
I love anything MEXICAN and ITALIAN but I would have to say my favorite to make is "Marilyn's Cheesy Clam Chowder" I add a lot more ingredients than it calls for but everyone loves it! I make 18 quarts of it in November for our Soup Supper.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Again I have to bring up the Marilyn's Cheesy Clam Chowder every November.
My cooking triumphs
I catered a wedding rehearsal with my Husbands help and it turned out FABULOUS! Of course I used recipes from this site.
My cooking tragedies
Just the other day. Trying to make my own Hard Corn Tortillas Shells. They turned out a soggy oily mess! My mom used to make them and I should of payed more attention.

New Wife Tuna Salad
Awesome! I hate eggs so I eliminated them and I added a couple chopped jalapeno slices. I didn't have relish on hand so I chopped a dill pickle up. YUM. This is a keeper

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese
Yep it sounds just like the Mac and Cheese I mac. I use Chive and Onion Cream cheese and EXTRA SHARP WITH CHEDDAR!
