About this Cook
years ago, I was Church Hostess for my Church for 2 years preparing a weekly dinner on Wednesdays' Family Night before Church Service started. I also prepared a weekly dinner for the Tuesday Evening Faith Team. Now I volunteer my time to help out with the food part with different Ministries. I enjoy cooking and baking for my family when I have the time. I enjoy trying new recipes. After trying a recipe once, the next time I add my special touches to the recipe to make it better and to our enjoyment. I enjoy going to the Farmer's Market in the Spring thru the Fall.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook a lot of things. In the summer, I like to try to cook a lot of different vegetables, grill different types of meats, fish, and chicken. I also enjoy making different types of salads when it is too hot to cook. I enjoy learning different ways to use and cook different varieties of squashes that are available. I enjoy making homemade soups and stews when it gets really cold and hopefully make enough put up in the freezer to last for a several meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Around Thanksgiving and Christmas, I make a dish with Apples and Fresh Cranberries with a Pecan and Oatmeal Topping. Everyone loves this dish and wants a copy of the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
The first pecan pie I ever made could be eaten with a spoon. Sometimes cakes fall or a cake will not come out of the pan like it is supposed to.

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake
This is a Delicious and very easy Recipe! I used dried cranberries instead of the fresh cranberries. I poured the dried cranberries into some hot water for 1 minute to reconstitute. I dried the wet cranberries off with paper towels and then added them to the mix. I took this Coffee Cake to a morning Red Hat Society Meeting. There was nothing left except the plate to bring home. I took a copy of the recipe with me in case someone asked for the recipe. Several people asked for a copy of the recipe. I will positively bake this Recipe again for my family and friends.
