Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs
I've made these ribs several times since first reading the recipe here and they are always absolutely delicious! My slow-cooker doesn't do high heat very well so I pour the liquid into a saucepan and thicken it on the stovetop. I've occasionally substituted ketchup for the chili sauce and it comes out fine, if a little less "zippy". This has become one of my husband's favorite dishes and part of my permanent recipe rotation!

Zucchini Bread IV
I made this recipe exactly as directed except that I omitted the nuts (my husband and daughter are allergic) and added just a tiny bit of grated orange zest. It was absolutely delicious! My 12 year old has been scarfing this bread down (and yes, he knows there is zucchini in it). He says it tastes just like cake! I put the second loaf in the freezer but I suspect we'll be pulling it out soon and making many more batches of this delicious bread!

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios
I've made this recipe twice now. The first time, I omitted the onions and substituted toasted almond slivers for the pistachios. The second time, I left in the onions but omitted the nuts and steamed the sprouts in the microwave instead of on the stovetop. Both times this dish has been FANTASTIC! This has quickly become my favorite way to serve Brussels sprouts.
