Sweet Pretzel Stacks

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
These are just plain YUMMY! Made it exactly as the directions said except just broke up the pretzels instead of crushing them. They taste like candy and I am wishing I doubled the recipe! Great way to use pretzels.

Cayenne Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
I had one of those large bags of pretzels from Costco and was looking for something yummy to do with them. This was the perfect idea! I agree that it is too much oil, but I compensated by just adding more pretzels until I thought it was just right. Ended up having 4 trays of them in the oven. Everyone loved them and have asked me to make more. Thanks for the recipe!

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
Made this for Superbowl Sunday Brunch and everyone LOVED it. Only switch I made was using the thick texas toast bread instead of french. I am wishing I had a deeper dish though because it bubbled out and over into my oven. (it needed cleaning anyway!) Thanks for the yummy recipe!

Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Made these for Christmas and everyone loved them. I was worried that they might be hard to make but they were anything BUT! They came out just like the kind you can buy at a latte stand. I even half dipped some of them in chocolate and white chocolate and they were SO wonderful dipped in coffee! If you've never made them then try this recipe.

Layered Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
I served this on New years eve and it was good but still pretty much the same as any other one like this I've had. It was easy to make and does look pretty on the table but I am still going to look for another shrimp/dip recipe.

Yam Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
We just loved this recipe. It was very easy to make and didn't require too many ingredients like other similar recipes. I made it exactly as written with the exception that I used walnuts instead of pecans. I did have to cook it a bit longer than the recipe but that is probably because I had cooked the yams the previous day and they were cold from the fridge. The topping came out slightly crunchy and made the walnuts almost seem candied. Yummmm!! Thank you for a great recipe!

Tuna Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2006
This is just like the delicious tuna casserole my mom used to make. I love the fact that you don't have to use any soup in it. I followed the recipe to a tee except for I topped it with a layer of crushed ritz crackers. I did this for 2 reasons. I read other reviews where it said it came out too dry, so I figured this would help the noodles stay nice and moist (it did),and it just sounded to me like it needed a crunchy top. The result was yummmmmy! The family loved it and ate every bite! This one is a keeper.

Layered Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
This was really good! I had read others suggestions and heres what I did. I used more cheddar cheese on both the bottom and the top, I used a large can of spaghetti sauce instead of the tomato sauce and I put a layer of sliced olives on top of the cream cheese/sour cream mixture. The result was so yummy! I do admit though that leftovers are even BETTER so I think next time I will cook it the day before I want to serve it, then put it in the fridge and reheat it the following day. Pure comfort food that you and your family will love.

Campfire Foil Onion

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
We made these while camping and even a non onion lover loved them! I did like others said and added some sprinkled vegtable boullion to each onion and they ended up flavorful and yummy. I used very large, sweet onions and because they were so big we had to cook them somewhat longer but they were well worth the wait! Thank you for a wonderful recipe that will now be a part of our camping menus all the time.

Applesauce Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2006
I also halved the sugar and still it was just too sweet for us. I even put a little bit of liquid smoke in it and just couldn't get it to taste the way we wanted. Probably just not the recipe for us.

Elaine's Sweet and Tangy Loose Beef BBQ

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
This was a very good bbq beef. A tad on the sweet side but very yummy. I think next time I might add a bit of liquid smoke and see how we like it. Will make this again for sure. I used leftover roast and the family loved it better than other "left over" recipes I've made with roast.

Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
There were probably as good as any salmon patties I've ever had. I admit that we're not salmon/crab patty lovers but I had some left over bbq salmon and was trying to find something to do with it. These were tasty but I think I might add a bit more onion for flavor next time and perhaps some salt and pepper. Thanks for the recipe!

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
We loved this salad. I used bowtie pasta and didn't have any fresh red peppers so used a jar of roasted ones instead. The the mix of flavors was perfect and not so sour as store bought Greek salads. My teenagers also gave it 5 stars and said it was a nice change to go with our salmon dinner. Will make this one again!

Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: May 13, 2006
This was just ok but I had to make too many changes to it, which to me makes it not such a good choice to make. Some recipes are made to be tweaked with..adding your favorite ingredients and such, but this one shouldn't have to be messed around with (sugar, amount of fruit, etc.) I'll look for another similar recipe.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: May 10, 2006
We really liked these! They come out creamy and smooth..almost like instant only they taste better. They are easy to reheat and you can't tell that you've made them at an earlier time. I'm sure you could add things to them but I think the whole idea of this recipe was "make ahead" saving you time and stove space later. I'll use this again in the future for when I need extra time to make something else to go with them. Thanks for the recipe!

New England Clam Chowder I

This was just ok. The flavor was good but it wasn't the consistency we like (too runny). I did try to thicken it up a bit but it still wasn't the way we liked it.

Spanish Rice II

We didn't like this at all. I followed the recipe completely and it came out very mushy with not much flavor. I even did the chicken broth for the water and we still didn't care for it.

Sunshine's Company Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
We loved this. It's simple and the blend of flavors was perfect. I must admit it's appearance looked somewhat boring, so if you're going to serve it for company, I'd suggest perhaps sprinkling some sliced green onions or chives on top with a pinch of paprika after taking it out of the oven. My 15 year old told me "this is killer mom!"

Corned Beef Hash (Abalos style)

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2006
Very good hash recipe. I suggest cutting up the potatoes into very small cubes though. Mine ended up being too big and so it took quite a bit longer to cook. Tasted good and the tomatoes added a nice extra flavor. Thanks for the recipe!
