Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
Very good receipe, followed it as written along with one recommendation of adding garlic very good and spicy. Added a couple tsp of cornstarch at the end to thicken without losing any of the flavor. Next time would add more chicken.

Storybook Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
This is the first time I made gingerbread cookies. I doubled the recipe and followed it exactly. Cooked 11 minutes at 350, and the cookies have a great texture and are nice and chewy. Good gingerbread flavor. Took one advice and rolled the dough out between parchment paper, made dough easy to work with.

Very good apple crisp. I put more cinnamon in it just for my taste and I use real butter vs margarine, it just melts better, imo

Make Ahead Lunch Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Very good base recipe. I would definitely add some more spice to it next time. I used salsa instead of tomatos w/ chilis, that was only substitution. I cut recipe in half and it still made 15 8 inch tortillas.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Great sauce. Made this tonight for some picky eaters and they really liked it. Loved the creaminess and how well it coated the chicken. Made exactly as written, doubled batch for eight breasts plenty of sauce.

Sticky Monkey Brains

Excellent recipe. Used one big bundt pan and cooked for 35-40 minutes at 350 and was delicious. I used another reviewers idea and put the cinnamon and sugar in a bag and shock batches of the rolls before putting in pan. Will make many more times.

New Year Spinach Fettuccine with Scallops

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Delicious!!! I used the ingredients according to recipe but changed the way I cooked it. Sauteed garlic than added spinach, put aside. Cooked scallops put in bowl with spinach. Made sauce with low fat soup and cup of white wine. Let cook down about 6 minutes, added scallops and spinach and pasta for last coupld of minutes of cooking. Served with sprinkle of parm cheese. Will make many more times.

Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
These are great treats!! My only finding when making these is that the white chocolate hug kisses don't hold up to the heat, even when baked for only 90 seconds at 350. They collapsed as soon as I put the M&M on it. Otherwise these were a hit wherever I took them and everyone was amazed at how easy. Can be made any time of year for a quick treat.

Very easy to make and chicken was very moist. I thought it tasted very salty but husband really liked it. Will make again but try to think of ways to cut salt taste

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
Excellent recipe, husband had two bowls. Only thing I did different was use fat free half and half instead of heavy cream. I'm sure using the HC makes it even richer than it was. I will make again and may add pine nuts and mushrooms this time. Update.. have made this several more times and now use two cups of FF half and half 11/2 cups goes into pan add cornstarch to remaining 1/2 cup and then add to pan sauce thickens up perfectly

Very good taste. Definitely let it marinade overnight, it soaked right into the chicken. I will make again but will double and save some to dip the chicken in when eating.

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Would give five stars but made a big change. I used batter as described but inserted a couple of pieces of cut up semi-sweet chocolate in middle prior to baking. But the cake surrounding the "lava" was excellent. Everyone who tried it loved them.. but with the update made it very rich. Cooked for about 11 minutes were perfectly cooked. No problem getting out of cupcake wrapper if sprayed or buttered. Would make again

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Was not impressed by this at all. Sauteed the garlic with butter and olive oil as recommended and used extra garlic since I had more fish. Still did not give any great flavor to the fish. Very bland to me. Sorry will not make again.

Absolutely delicious and very easy, had everything on hand. Followed recipe pretty much as is. I add a little extra garlic for my taste but that's it. Husband loved it. Made with roasted red potatoes and sauce was great on those too. Thanks for submitting. Can't wait to make again.

Really good recipe. My crock pot cooked the steak to fork tender in about 7.5 hours on low. I used low sodium soups just to cut the salt. Very good, would make again.
