About this Cook
I love to talk, ask around they'll concur. More often than not it's at a fast pace as my brain tends to go faster than I can form the words. Picture a toddler learning to run and the top half getting ahead of the bottom...you get the idea. I think coffee is a necessity, something I would take to a deserted island. The caffeine, smell, taste, caffeine, all of it. I'm a foodie. I love to sit and watch the Food Network and wish that I had all the ingredients just listed so I could smell and TASTE what was just created! I cook with my hubby and we tend to try and steal the cooking from one another. New recipe...bring it on ~ well unless it only has a 1 star review!
My favorite things to cook
Baklava ~ this is always something that impresses. It takes time but is deliciously easy. Griling ~ nothing beats that charred flavor. We love fresh veggies, fruit, chicken and more on the grill!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making ginger bread cookies with my girls . We end up with more flour on our faces than on the board. They love every part of the process.
My cooking triumphs
Slowly teaching my two girls to be comfortable in the kitchen. Brineing a whole turkey - it was amazing!
My cooking tragedies
When I was younger I was trying to make home made ice cream for my family. I read the 3 tsp of salt as 3 tbsp. Oh my that was not a good thing. We're not so great at steak...we love to eat them just can't seem to get them right.

Hoisin (but not really) Country Ribs
Very good! I didn't have peanut oil so I used the Smart Balance oil on hand. I agree with another reviewer that browning isn't necessary. I cooked them on high for 4 hours and the bones we're falling out. I love the ease of this recipe and the short list of ingredients. I would suggest trying a whole onion, adding garlic and some sriracha for some heat. A good side in my opinion would be quinoa, sticky rice, or a steamed/grilled veggie.

Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies
These cookies turn out so wonderful! I did go ahead and use the whole bag (2c) of chunks. Start with 11min for the first batch since your pans are cool. I also recommend keeping the dough in the fridge between batches. For subsequent batches start with an 8 min timer since your pans are hot. Next time I think the next time I make these I will add 3T brewed coffee. We always have a little left in the pot.
