Best Butternut Squash Soup Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
GREAT soup! I took some of the reviews advice and changed a few things: Pretty much quadrupled the quantity, i added 2 peeled apples when i simmered the squash, then when i was blending it i added 2 cups heavy cream. it was seasoned perfectly!

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Wonderful recipe, i used some of the suggestions and i think it came out perfect! I doubled the dough mixture and added about a cup more fruit, added 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the dough and fruit. The dough was dense and had character (Not too sweet). I will definately be making this recipe again, and with other types of fruit.

Blueberry Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I loved this recipe!!! I made a few modifications and it came out great. I added the zest of 1 orange, and about 3 tbsp of juice as well as 2 tbsp of brown sugar. I also used pecans instead of walnuts (i toasted them slightly before using them). It came out light and bursting with great blueberry flavor with a hint of orange.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I made these for 4th of july and i think i didnt make enough! I made probably 10 lbs of baby back ribs but people just couldnt put them down. i did marinate my ribs over night with a dry rub of cayanne, paprika, cumin, garlic and cracked black pepper. Cooking them in the oven saved so much room on the grill for other foods.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I took this recipe and modified it a little adding a few things. I used cumin, cayanne and some ground dried ginger. I also added a little fresh orange juice and used it to coat the pork loin. I marinated it in the fridge for about 2 hours then i cooked it on the grill using indirect heat for 2 hours and for the last 10 minutes i put it over the flame for a little crunch on the skin. Completely awesome, it didnt last long at all and the meat came out super flavorful!

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
This was the absolute best banana bread i have ever had! It was completely moist and pecans with the brown sugar really made it different. My roommates went out and got more bananas so i could make it again and they took it to work. Lots of compliments!

Great Ham! I added a touch of jamaican rum and some orange juice. I also put a halved orange in the pan, really good taste.

Pumpkin Cheesecake I

Everyone had the same reaction, it was just like pumpkin pie but just not as strong. Really simple, but it took a bit longer to bake than i expected.

Great sauce, really simple. I made it the night before and went to bed, it was JUST right for dinner. Not too sweet and not as tart!

New York Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
Awesome recipe, i used some of the reviews and made some changes. I zested an orange right over the mixing bowl and it gave it a great fresh taste. And i also baked it in a water bath, my only problem was that i didnt have more cheesecake!

Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2005
I made this for a party i had recently and ended up having to make a 2nd pot (everyone ran out and grabbed the ingredients to make more!!!). I took out the jalapenos, and I used 1 whole smoked sausage along with 1lb of uncooked chorizo (which i sauteed first and removed before cooking the vegetables.) I served it over rice instead of cooking it together and I added garlic powder and Cajun seasoning at the end. What a recipe!

Homemade Tomato Sauce II

Great recipe! I added some sugar to cut some of the acidity and a little crushed red pepper along with a few more herbs. This was one of those "CAN I HAVE EXTRA BREAD PLEASE" sauces!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2005
This recipe was so good it was CRAZY! i had a small dinner party with some friends over and the room was completely quiet for about 20 minutes while we all devoured the fish. I modified it a little with fresh garlic and some Old Bay seasoning on the fish itself, but other than that the recipe was awesome itself.

Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2002
I thought i would give this recipe a try, as something different to do with some pork chops. BOY was i surprised, both of my roomates LOVED it and went back for second and thirds. I really liked the mixing of flavors of the onions and apples. I substituted a few things, like spicy mustard and added cinnamon as well. I also sauteed the apples with the onions for just a little bit just to help them acquire some more flavor. This was an overall WINNER!
