About this Cook
Im a young cook, who learned most of his skills from picking up the phone and calling family and THE FOOD NETWORK! I have a tivo full of shows like Food 911, 30 minute meals, Paula's Home Cooking and Good Eats! Over the past 10 years of being independant i have learned through trial and error and personal preferences. People really enjoy coming to my house because they know they'll never leave hungry!
My favorite things to cook
Grilled Chicken, Grilled Salmon, Pork Chops, Steak, Shrimp.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The Holidays are a huge ordeal for my family because we get the opportunity to cook together. I personally look forward to this most of all because i learn something new every year.
My cooking triumphs
My first Christmas dinner was last year and it came out WONDERFUL! I started cooking 2 days before and managed to do a great job (if i say so myself). I managed to hit all the old family favorites with a new twist and everyone was completely amazed. Its always nice to finally prove to the family that i CAN cook!
My cooking tragedies
I think my worst tragedy was the time i started making dinner because i was expecting friends over and i had 4 burners going and chicken in the oven. I stepped out of my townhouse to put a bag of garbage on the corner and i realized that i had locked myself out! Needless to say an hour later when i got back in the house, The pizza guy made it there in time that i never had a chance to get disappointed.

Best Butternut Squash Soup Ever
GREAT soup! I took some of the reviews advice and changed a few things: Pretty much quadrupled the quantity, i added 2 peeled apples when i simmered the squash, then when i was blending it i added 2 cups heavy cream. it was seasoned perfectly!

Blackberry Cobbler II
Wonderful recipe, i used some of the suggestions and i think it came out perfect! I doubled the dough mixture and added about a cup more fruit, added 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the dough and fruit. The dough was dense and had character (Not too sweet). I will definately be making this recipe again, and with other types of fruit.

Blueberry Bread I
I loved this recipe!!! I made a few modifications and it came out great. I added the zest of 1 orange, and about 3 tbsp of juice as well as 2 tbsp of brown sugar. I also used pecans instead of walnuts (i toasted them slightly before using them). It came out light and bursting with great blueberry flavor with a hint of orange.
