I'm an American (Southerner/New Orleanian) living in London, married to a Brit and mom to a very active toddler! I've recently been on a baking kick. I was always intimidated by baking. I think the key to good cookies is a thick, professional cookie sheet. Coming from New Orleans, I've been cooking Red Beans and Rice since I was 11. It's in my blood! I'm known for my Banana-Nut Bread. I use a recipe that I found in the local newspaper. Comes out great every time. I tried this carrot cake recipe a few years ago. It called for about 25 different ingredients. Completely flopped! It taught me to judge a recipe by its ingredients. Simple is often best!
