About this Cook
I can not cook to save my life. I usually buy already prepared foods. My mother only ever made stuff if it came out of a box or if it was frozen and all you had to do was stick it in the oven. So I get this naturally. However, I want to get better because it will save money if my family will eat it. I have wasted tons of money trying to cook and I have wasted tons of money eating out so this has got to happen. I'm going to have a makeover and turn into Betty Crocker. ;-p
My favorite things to cook
I like to use the crock pot, but my son says the meat always turns out flavorless.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite is for good luck on New Years Day. It is Pork, Sauerkraut, Mashed Potatoes, and Nep. I am Pennsylvania Dutch and Nep is a boiled dough ball.
My cooking triumphs
I used to have an easy recipe for Fried Rice, but I forgot how to do it. I don't have any cooking triumphs. When I have to make something for a pot luck, I make capital punishment chili. It's so hot, noone can even tell what it tastes like, but I like it.
My cooking tragedies
I made meatloaf in the crock pot and it turned out pretty good, but when I tried it a second time, I doubled the recipe and it was sick.

Spinach Bacon Quiche
Really, really good! I followed other reviewers suggestions. Only used 1/2 of the milk, added 2 more eggs, used a deep dish pie shell and sauteed the onion in the bacon fat. Super delicious. Turned out perfect!

Pepperoni Drop Biscuits
Yep, these are amazing and sooo easy to make. I served them as a main dish though, they would be better with spaghetti! Thanks a bunch.

Wonderful Meatloaf
I have tried every meatloaf recipe known to man. My family begs me to stop trying to make meatloaf. Finally, this is the recipe they love! Two of the picky eaters ate this all in one sitting. The rest of us didn't even get to try it. I will be making this a lot and doubling the recipe. Thanks!
