About this Cook
My favorite things are activities outside like cycling, skiing and hiking and entertaining/preparing food and drinks for others. Allrecipes provides great ideas and recipes that are well-reviewed, guaranteeing success.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilled vegetables in the summer and roasted vegetables in the winter. I also enjoy making soups and desserts. Now that I have a baby, I also make all of her baby food. It's very easy and tastes much better than the baby food in jars.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandfather always made aebleskivers for us when we were children and I enjoy making them for breakfast on special occasions.
My cooking triumphs
I've had a few very large dinner parties and BBQ's where I or I and my husband have made ALL of the food. On several occasions, we have started preparing food a couple days in advance. All of these parties have been a great success and we get lots of compliments on the food.
My cooking tragedies
I occasionally have so much going on in the kitchen that I will burn things and have to start over. It's a real bummer when I have to then go back to the store to buy more ingredients.

Zucchini Brownies
These brownies are really tasty and there is no way to tell that there is zucchini inside. My batter was very moist and easy to work with. We found that these are less sweet and less rich than other brownies but my guests and husband thought that was a good thing. I didn't make the frosting but planned to use a ganache instead. I didn't have time to make it... Next time, I'll try these with the frosting. I would also like to try substituting applesauce for the oil, like other reviewers.

Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup
This soup is quick to make and wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed it with a green salad and hot, crusty bread. I didn't make any changes to this aside from using low-sodium chicken broth. It's delicious as left-overs too!

Bissara
This soup is wonderful and couldn't be easier to make! The flavor is very rich and the texture is perfect (I used a hand blender, right in the pot to puree). I used red pepper flakes instead of the dried red chili pepper. It did take a little longer to cook... and definitely needed more water during the cooking process. I ended up using low sodium chicken stock and kept adding it, as needed. I will definitely make this again. Thanks, Asma!
