Golden Yam Brownies
"Yam bread" was loved by the adults and this "cake with frosting" was especially loved by a picky 3 year old and a super duper picky 6 yr old who requested a second slice!! I used my toaster over so had to go with a 7x11 sized pan and baked it covered in foil at 325 for 45 minutes. I uncovered it and lowered the temperature to 200 until the center was finally done (also, when the top was nicely browned, I recovered it to prevent further browning). I added 1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon and decreased both sugars to 3/4 cups (still very sweet!). Since my slices were thicker, the brownie was more bread-like yet unbelievably moist. Definitely a KEEPER!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I
Delicious cookies with a texture similar to a brownie. I substituted the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips and added macadamia nuts. I also used half white and half brown sugar and butter flavored crisco. The texture and taste (not too sweet) were such a perfect combo that even my guy friends asked for more.

Strawberry Syrup
Perfect ratio!! Not too sweet and not too tart. You can increase or decrease this recipe easily. Tastes great over angel food caked served with fresh whipped cream.
