I grew up on the East Coast, Newfoundland to be precise. Growing up, my mother planted in me the desire and love of cooking. I grew up with an appreciation for the traditions of the East Coast, from Irish, to Scottish, and of course, traditional Newfoundland foods. A foodie at heart, I have had the opportunities to also cook for many people over the years. I love to just see what I have in the cupboard or fridge and just create something new! You never know what you could get. My favorite tradition would be the simple Turkey dinner. It has always been a tradition. I remember always helping my mom with it, and recently, had the opportunity to share this tradition with others by preparing my own for the first time, with no assistance. Made Creme Brulee for the first time, and it turned out amazing! People had always told me that it was hard, but I found it easy. Biggest triumph though, would be preparing a Turkey dinner for about 200 plus people. It took a lot of prep, but everyone loved it! Many thanks to all those involved! I was preparing a multiple course meal, and was so busy that as I pulled the roast out of the oven I forgot to use oven mitts. I burnt myself, and lost the roast to the floor. It was a sad day.
