About this Cook
I've always loved to cook, but haven't always been good at it! If you ask my mom, she'd tell you I was so bad I couldn't even burn toast (yeah, that bad). But now, she requests my desserts whenever we have our get-togethers. I love trying new things and more often than not, they turn out well. I love many ethnic dishes, but being in rural Minnesota, have limited access to some ingredients (thank goodness for the internet!).
My favorite things to cook
Thai bubble tea, New England clam chowder, homemade chicken pot pie, chili, cookies, pies, cheesecake, flan, Chicken quesadillas (my own recipe!), fettuccine Alfredo, just about everything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting together to make holiday cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Making flan and having my sister tell me that it tasted just like the flan she had in Mexico.
My cooking tragedies
For whatever reason, I can't grill a good steak, they come out overdone (or not done at all!) and bland. My husband blames the grill...

Beef Taco Skillet
Wow, very good by itself and a great platform to build on. I put crushed tostadas on top. Next time I might use 1/2 corn tortillas and 1/2 flour tortilla and more salsa.

Cheese Frenchy Sandwiches
The submitter is not saying you HAVE to freeze them before eating them, she's saying that you can make them up and then freeze them and they will keep for a month.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
It doesn't get any easier or tastier. I used Campbell's Cream of Mushroom with Roasted garlic, I added 2 4 oz cans of sliced mushrooms (with liquid) and served it with the good old standby mashed potatoes. Delicious, thank you!
