About this Cook
Hi There! I'm originally from Indonesia and married to a long time bf. My husband actually is a big influence of my cooking history. I used to be the girl who didn't even know how to cook rice on the stove or boil water. I remember my home economic teacher in Australia was "surprised" that me being an Indonesian/Asian in this case didn't even know how to cook rice. =) Then I went to Oregon for college several years ago and met my husband now. We both love eating and explore unique tastes from different countries and cultures. I guess love started my cooking experience hahah.. I started to cook and bake stuff that we like and now I am turning into this person who just love and adore cooking and baking so much. I's really fun trying out recipes and experimenting with them as well.
My favorite things to cook
Wow... I don't know, I'm basically into cooking and baking anything that sounds good or if I tried it already and liked it then it will be a good chance I will try to find the recipe and make it. Chinese, Indian, Mexican, European, Indonesian, you name it, I'd love to make it all. I definitely have sweet tooth and crazy about chocolate, pies and other desserts. I also adore breads... hmmm the smell that they spread around the house when you bake them, it's more than words can say. =)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family are more into cooking rather than baking. My mom, she is one of the best Indonesian cook out there to me. She makes such yummy yummy Indo food, and her number one dangerously meal is called Rendang which is Indonesian Beef with Coconut milk. It's sooo yummy!. If you ever go to Indo restaurant anywhere, it's a must to try, although I don't think they all will be as good as my mum's. Sorry... hehehe =P
My cooking triumphs
Everything I made that came out delicious I consider as my triumphs.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm it's when I tried to make the "to die for blueberry muffin". Okay, me and husband stay in this apt with an oven that doesn't have the correct temp, and since I baked stuff already before, and thought that everything would be okay, I just trusted my muffin in the oven without checking it out anytime (in the past, I always did). What a mistake! Even before the timer went off, I smelled the burn, took out my black ugly muffin, smoke was everywhere and yeah, totally triggered the smoke alarm. That was an experience that I hope won't happen anymore.

Crepes
I just made these and o em gee... it's really good! I think the key is to use the blender to make it thus it achieves the right consistency and distribute the ingredients evenly. Used my crepe pan, and also added 2 tsp of pure vanilla into the batter. Delicious! Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. =)

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna
This is sooo delicious. I put more cheese than called for on the recipe and used only one box of the chopped spinach. Will definitely make this again and again! =) Thank you so much for the recipe!!!

Chicken Enchiladas II
I really like this recipe! =) Although, I did make some changes according to others' suggestions. I used one can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of mushroom. I added A LOT more cheese than the recipe stated, and used just regular flour tortillas and rottiserie chicken breasts. Very yummy and will definitely make again soon! =)
