About this Cook
I am a twenty-six year old with a love of food and no reason to worry about calories as of yet. I don't rate my recipes based on healthyness, but taste. So remember that. I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to food, but I must have easy and good recipes or they never get made. I am a sucker for fast recipes, ie. small number of ingredients, fast cook times and easy substitutions. I'm also a sucker for desserts although I haven't made many from this website. I have too many really great family recipes. Well, that's me!
My favorite things to cook
Curries, Not-so-Mexican Chicken Enchiladas, Chicken Jambalaya, Sugar Cookies (actually any kind of cookies), Asian Food, Hawaiian Haystacks (not really cooking), Peanut Butter Bon-Bons, Anything new I can test on my husband
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I would make about 200 sugar cookies for Halloween and Christmas. Then my whole family would help us frost and decorate them. We had to make alot because half the cookies would disappear while being "frosted".
My cooking triumphs
I single-handedly catered a holiday dinner and dessert party for my fellow employees at a luxury resort. I loved cooking the food and the Christmas candies. Although it was alot of work, I would do it all over again in a second. I also love the fact that I can cook food for my family that they not only love, but are willing to finish off the leftovers.
My cooking tragedies
I once made a peanut butter pie that ended up as peanut butter flavored cement. I still don't know what I did wrong, but it seriously was a slab of hard and slimy gelatin/cement. It was horrible!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV
I've never really been a fan of the whole white chocolate and macadamia nut thing. These cookies have converted me. I doubled the recipe, but kept the chocolate/nuts the same. I used a 12 oz bag of white chocolate chips. I also only added 1/2 tsp of salt because the nuts were salted. I had to cook them for 12-14 minutes at 375. But they were soooooo worth it. I could sell these if I wanted to.

Amish White Bread
I've been making bread with my mom since I was little and this bread is replacing hers...(shhhhh, don't tell her). This recipe gave me two large dense loaves with soft crusts that sliced like a dream and are great with meat and cheese. I have doubled the recipe with no trouble, rolled cinnamon/sugar into it for cinnamon bread, made cinnamon rolls and sticky buns with it and made picture perfect dinner rolls. Wow, this recipe is very versatile and simple. I've decreased the sugar to 1/3 cup for one batch and didn't really care for it- I guess I like my sugar. I also used all purpose flour with no problem. You can't go wrong with this recipe. If you are having trouble, do a little research into breadmaking in general, so you don't mess up the steps - like running the water over your wrist to make sure it's not too hot (it should be warm, but not burning hot). Other than that, this recipe is pretty foolproof and will give you bread to rave over.

Sausage Gravy I
I love biscuits and gravy and this gravy is fantastic. Make sure you add the bacon grease and use good sausage. I tried this recipe with the value brand and it kinda sucked. Jimmy Dean all the way! This recipe isn't as fluffy as IHOP's, but it tastes so much better! Oh, and I sometimes double the milk to make more gravy and it still tastes great!
