About this Cook
I love to cook. I love trying new recipes which is why this site is perfect for me. My husband nor I are picky eaters so we enjoy a variety of cuisines. I also entertain quite often so we like to cook for parties and groups as well.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that I'll get compliments on!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned to cook from my mother who is an excellent cook. She ejoys very complex gourmet recipes. I definitely get my love of cooking from her- as well as from my love of eating!
My cooking tragedies
One really stands out. I made Grandma Ople's Apple Pie from this site. I had made it before and it was delicious! We went to my Aunt and Uncle's cabin for Christmas last year and I decided to make it for Christmas day dinner. I made the pie (using my FAMOUS pie crust recipe) and baked the pie. It looked delicious until everyone bit into it. The Crisco that my Aunt had on hand had gone Rotten and I didn't know it. The pie crust was HORRIBLE. Nobody was eating the pie. My mother then announced at the table- that she suspected the Crisco in the crust was rancid when she was helping me make it but she didn't want to say anything- in case it wasn't. ALL THAT WORK- and the pie was terrible. It is now the story of "The Rancid Christmas Pie" that gets everyone laughing.

Butterfinger Chunkies
These were good but certainly not great in my opinion. I baked some for 12 minutes (crunchy) and some for 10 (soft). Where I usually prefer a crunchy cookie on this recipie I prefer the soft. For a delicious PB cookie I prefer Peanut butter sandwhich cookie recipe available on this site.

Special Deviled Eggs
The filling was runny. I have to say I thought these were boring and 3 stars...at very best. Sorry!

Spicy Oven Fried Chicken
Good and simple! Not really spicy though- I will add more spice next time around.
