I live with my DH Mark. My husband is not too picky and will try some new tastes. And my tastes are very eclectic. I like to try different foods all the time.
My favorite things to cook
It is not so much about what is my favorite things to cook as much as its what thing I love to eat. Like Mu Shu Beef, Dim Sum, Italian Wedding Soup, Arancini di Riso, Cumin Sweet Potatoes, & Lemon Meringue Pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have two food heritages. One is southern and the other is country german. My favorite southern comfort foods are biscuits & gravy, grits, cornbread and beans, & black eyed peas (which we eat only as treats, lowfat diet). I loved Gma G's Sawmill gravy made with bacon drippins. Gma L cooked country german foods. Her homemade German egg noodles aka spätzle was so good. My favorite german foods are verenika(a favorite), fried potatoes, spoon bread, borscht soup, spätzle, & schnitzel.
My cooking triumphs
And it was my greatest cooking achievment when I was able to duplicate a gravy that tasted almost like my grandma's, without having her recipe. Even though it cannot be exactly cause it doesn't have her love.:~)
