About this Cook
My husband and I have seven children. I'm always looking for recipes that are quick, economical and kid friendly. But, sometimes my husband and I will cook a special dinner just for us and that's when the real fun begins! My family loves to cook together and my 12 yr old daughter is interested in becoming a chef.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook lasagna, roasts, homemade noodles and new sweet or savory dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother grew up working in the onion fields of Indiana. She always made homemade noodles over mashed potatoes. I know....two starches? But when you grow up on the stuff, you just NEED it!! It's great!
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph is being the only member of my large family who can make grandma's noodles without measuring, just like she did. I watched her for hours as a child and that's the way I learned.
My cooking tragedies
Mousakka. The recipe for this Greek dish had about 20 ingredients. It took about two hours to prepare. It was horrible!!!! I'm sure I'd love it if the right person made it....just not me! :)

Beer Battered Fried Vegetables
Fantastic!! To the person who gave this one star, dry your veggies before you dip. Also, this is a fun recipe for special occasions. I don't think many prepare this for a side dish..lol! We gather the whole gang and everyone waits around the table in anticipation for the next batch to come out of the deep fryer. Thanks DJ for the awesome recipe!!

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad
If you aren't sure if you want to try this or not, please trust us!! Don't forget to leave it set overnight. Although, we always eat a bowl, yes, a bowl, right after we make it. I make 32 servings of this salad and put it in the fridge. Within two or three days, my fam has eaten all of it. It is just amazing. Change up the veggies if you like, but don't mess w/that dressing! Thank you so much for this recipe.

Almond-Topped Fish
My whole family, including the kids who "only eat fishsticks" loved this recipe. Thanks!
