About this Cook
I am the oldest of 4 girls. My mom worked so when we got home from school I had to start dinner for the family so I grew up cooking and learned to love it. I love to show my family how much I love them by preparing their favorite dishes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes. I get tired of eating the same dishes and feel that my family does also so I'm always looking for something new and different. I like cooking desserts most, guess it's because I like eating them more than other dishes
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our holiday ritual is cooking all type Christmas goodies and making baskets to share with friends. I started this when my children were young for teachers gifts and it has continued. We spend an entire weekend making everything we can think of to share. The girls are now living in their own places but we still take a weekend during the holidays to carry on the tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I love cheesecake and I finally master the art of cheesecake. Now at any function with family, friends, or office workers, I'm elected to bring cheesecake.
My cooking tragedies
As I stated earlier, I love to try new recipes. With that in mind you have to always be prepared for the goof ups. Not all recipes that sound good are. We have had to throw away dinner and eat cereal. That is hard to do if you have company for dinner so I try to prepare the dish before I serve it to guest.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
Oh so good....I toasted the walnuts before adding them to the bread and added 1 1/2 cups walnuts. I baked 3 loaves for 1 hours on 350 and it was perfect.

Italian Sausage Soup
This was so good. I added onions while browning the sausage. I also added about 1/2 can of rotel for a little kick and probably doubled the spinach. It was amazing.
