Spice Mix for Chicken

I really have no idea why everyone is comparing this recipe to KFC. KFC wasn't even around when fried chicken was invented. This is a Spice Mix FOR chicken, the recipe author DIDN'T state it was KFC's spice mix for chicken. Most reviewers are taste comparing this with a fast food chain's flavors, instead of basing their reviews on the flavor itself to chicken. The taste was pretty good. It bumped up a regular fried chicken recipe. I made it exactly as directed for my first batch. With my second batch, I added a little bit of poultry seasoning, sage, onion powder, marjoram, corriander and cumin. I'm giving 4 stars to the recipe because of the process of double cooking. I would prefer to do it once and be done, not add extra steps.

Whipped Cream

This recipe was very nice. Much better than store bought products. However, it was not sweet enough for the particular recipe I was using it for though. Next time I will use the suggestions of other reviewers and increase the sugar amount.

Peanut Butter Pie I

Awesome! One of the best pies I've ever eaten. The key to this pie is allowing enough time for the flavors to meld together. I made this pie on Thanksgiving day. (Forgot to make a desert for my husband who is picky about sweets.) On Thanksgiving the pie was good, something different. But the next day...Oh My! The flavor was extraordinary! The only alteration made was in the crust. I didn't have chocolate cookie crumbs, but substituted with graham crackers. TY so much for sharing your recipe with us Stephanie. This has become a keeper for my family.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Good recipe! I love sweet coleslaw, but this was a little to much even for me. First time I made exactly according to direction. The second time however, I made 2 changes. I reduced the sugar amount and the second was adding 1/2 tablespoon of celery seed. Either way this recipe makes a great coleslaw. TY and I will be keeping it for future use.

Caribbean Jerk Pork Chops

This recipe was different in taste. The first time around I made it according to recipe directions. Was not greatly impressed with it. Second time around I excluded the wet ingredients and used it as a jerk rub. The taste was different than normal jerk rubs, but we liked it. Thanks for the recipe.

Good recipe Marty! Thanks for sharing.Some months back I tried my first Allrecipes Beer Chops recipe. Since then my knowledge for cooking, drinking etc...with beer has greatly changed. here are some facts to ponder on beer before cooking this recipe yourself. Is your favorite brand of beer a lager, ale or malt? You can not just run to the local store and grab the cheapest thing you find. You don't have to buy the most expensive either. The only thing you must do is adjust your flavors accordingly. The way you store your beer can have an effect not only on the drinking quality of beer, but cooking with it as well. A bottled beer tastes much different than a can beer. Storing a bottled beer on it's side can cause the yeast to oxidate with the cap. Always store your beer upright. Be careful when buying can beer. Always know the brand of beer is just fine to your palate and liking before cooking with it. Also, the less expensive beer will naturally have a higher salt taste than a more expensive beer. When using a less expensive beer adjust the measure of salt down for the recipe. I hope this review helps anyone who is willing to explore cooking with beer for this recipe and others. Tuna Scalloped Potatoes

Surprised more people have not tried this recipe. Quick and easy with great results for a tuna fan! Not a big tuna fan myself, but my family loves it. I added seasonings according to their taste buds. Here are the extras I used to make a one dish meal. * I sauted the onions slightly with a dab of butter before placing with the potatoes. * Added just a touch of Ms. Dash with salt and pepper to taste. * Brocolli and sliced mushrooms to give more variety for a one dish meal. However, any vegetable or add in could be used to acheive the one dish meal, use your favorites. Try using Cream of Chicken -or- Campbell's makes a Cream of Chicken and Mushroom together. They have many varieties available now. * Instead of just pouring the sauce mixture over the top before baking. I tosssed it lightly among all the ingredients. Thank You Sara for the recipe. Even my picky 6 year old liked it. He will only eat tuna salad, but tried this and ate seconds. I will be trying this again, maybe mixing it up for other meats, add ins etc...

Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting

Upon seeing this recipe... I knew I wanted to try it. It seemed simple and the ingredients were already in my kitchen on hand. With further reading of the reviews I was wondering. I already know my families tastes. So, I took down the amount of almond extract just a tad. It was very good!! When I read the review of : "Yuck, I will never try this again!" - I get discouraged. A world and cooking is give and take. Don't just trash it - try it again - Experiment with the ingredients to find the right flavor for your tastebuds. You might just find a winner recipe melting in your mouth. Happy Cooking !!!!! ~MA~

Sausage Stuffing

Wonderful recipe! Something similar to the one my grandmother used to make years ago. I did however cut my poultry seasoning down to my family's liking. Very tasteful and they enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing with us. :)

Beer Chops I

I read the reviews on this and was skeptical at first. But my husband really wanted to try it. After reading them I thought I would use some hints and my own tips to better this recipe to our taste buds. Tried it and it was a Fav! Was wonderful! Here is what I did.... My variation Half the amount of beer. Pinch each of: Onion Salt - Mrs. Dash - Lawry's Seasoning Salt - Pepper - 1 can Cream Of Mushroom w/ Roasted Garlic (used Campbell's variety) This time using thinner pork chops lightly floured them and seared them just to the browning point in 2 tbsp of oil (butter would work too) before placing in the 9x13 pan. Added the onions next. Sprinkled w/ seasonings and then the soup mixed w/ the beer. I cooked this in a 325 degree oven for about 2 hours (pork chops were thinner - so didnt need that much cooking time) Times will vary I suppose on size. We will be eating this again real soon! And next time will use thicker pork chops as well. Also I had a great easy one step gravy mixture for using over mashed potatoes.
