About this Cook
I never learned how to cook until I became engaged and moved in with my fiance. I realized that I had never cooked for people before and had no idea even where to start. It took me about 6 months before I became comfortable cooking on adaily basis. Now,my husband cannot get enough of my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Some of my favorite things to cook are: fried chicken, cheeseburger pie and rolled mozzarella chicken. These are my husbands favorite meals. He can eat these everyday of the week. I like to experiment with new recipes, but it takes me a few times before I am comfortable with the taste.
My favorite family cooking traditions
No one in my family ever taught me how to cook, so I was on my own. I hope to make Thanksgiving Dinner a tradition at our home for now on. Every Thanksgiving my family make a fruit salad that has been passed down from generation to generation.
My cooking triumphs
I remember the first time I ever made my cheeseburger pie. My husband loved it and I felt so good. But the time I felt the proudest of myself was on Thanksgiving of 2003. It was our first Thanksgiving together since being married and all of the in-laws and my family were coming to our home. Everything turned out great. We had no diseasters and no one got sick!!
My cooking tragedies
I had never burned anything, but I tried to made hubby's favorite, Potato Soup. It was bland, with no color and tasted horrible. The hubby still ate it and said it was good, but I thought it was gross!

Mushroom Orzo
I gave this recipe 5 stars because it was soooo yummy the next day. I used about half the amount of butter and added a tiuch of oil. I used diced onions. My only recommendation would be to add 3/4c of chicken broth and 3/4c of white wine. You can taste the wine in the recipe, but I like a little more of a kick. I did not add the parsley, becasue I didn;t have any, but it's probably not even needed. Nice recipe.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots
Unfortutely, I think I am in the minority...I though this was a good recipe, but not great. I loved the sauce, but thought it was too think. I thought that with the exception of the bacon flavor in the sauce, the bacon could be omitted. I also thought the shallots could have been omitted as well. I made the recipe as written, but will make this recipe again and puree the sauce with the bacon and shallots to see if this would marke it better. I did add red potatoes to the roasting pan and they can out great.

Chocolate Trifle
I love this recipe. This is my go to receipe for a last minute pot luck at work. The only thing I do different is substituate the brownies for canned cherry pie filling. Just me, but I think the brownies make it a little too heavy. Other than that, dont mess with perfection.
