Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Add a bay leaf and a can of beef broth. My husband came up with this idea and has been making it for years.

BBQ Potatoes with Green Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I make this often. I go heavy on the onions and use olive oil instead of butter. I also ad a clove of garlic for each individual pack and sometimes frozen green beans. Yummy

Brown Sugar Smokies

I have made these many times - in fact just this past weekend I taught my 2 granddaughters (age 8 & 6 1/2) to make them. Good for appetizers or a nice brunch.

These were great for an easy breakfast using the regular sized smokie links.

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
This is how I make my baked potatos after asking a restaurant how they get their potatos so fluffy inside. They said the salt (I use a course salt) brings out the water in the potato - so it is fluffy. I do sometimes wrap in foil to bake.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
I have made cabbage diet soup before and loved it. This however tasted so blah I could not eat it. My husband poured Franks Red Hot sauce in it. I think some spices would help - and I would omit the water and use only broth. I also used V8 - so maybe that was the culprit. Guess I'll have to give it a whirl again.

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
I have made this recipe for years. My only difference is I omit the Olive Oil and put in a tablespoon of hot salsa. I also use more onions than this recipe. I get requests for it all the time. The lemon juice helps keep the guacamole from turing too brown.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
This is a very good tuna salad recipe. The curry I had on hand was a little old so I don't know if that affected the curry taste (not too strong) but I will definately make this recipe from now on. I added mayo until I got the consistancy I wanted. Thanks!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
My husband said give it more than 5 stars. This was totally awesome. He bought chops that weren't that great. You know how they put a couple nice ones on top then underneath they are more like pork steak...well I was so dissapointed in the meat, but after using this recipe they were unbelieveable!!! We can't wait to make them with a good cut of chops. They fell apart and the sauce was out of this world. Served with mashed potatoes and Yum to the Tum!! One of the best recipes I have tried from this site. Thanks!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
Hubby said to give it a 4. I thought more of a 3, but my taste buds are off from a sinus infection. It did give me terrible indigestion later...maybe all that cheese. I may make it over someday.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
Gotta tell ya....this is my comfort food. My husband makes the best and he uses 100% whole wheat bread, I can't believe it's not butter spray and velveeta. I can use the same ingredients and mine doesn't taste like his. He makes it with love...usually when I need comforted. Good with chicken noodle soup when you have the stuffies :)

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
My husband said to give it a 5 star. I think I put too much Parmesan cheese on...my bad. He really loved it. I also baked it instead of broil...next time I'll do on grill as my broiler doesn't broil evenly.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
Excellent sauce....but I guess that is really the recipe right? ...the sauce. I didn't want to have to remember to baste so I poured sauce over chicken then baked. I then stir fried veggies and poured some sauce on the stir fry and served over rice. This was really good. Like others, I'll never buy bottled Teriyaki again. Thanks for this recipe.

Swedish Nut Cake

I too have made this cake for over 30 years. It is so moist and yummy. I use black walnuts in my batter and black walnuts in the icing....just gives it a little more kick. I sometimes sprinkle a little coconut on top of the frosting.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
I love cheese, so I was a little unsure of this recipe. But the reviews have never let me down before so I went with it. It was awesome. My husband and mother devoured it! I used more than 5 potatoes and more than 3/4 cup onion (red & white onion) so I doubled the sauce. Next time I'll try a little cheese on top, but really like to stay as close to the recipe as I can the first time I make it...It's a keeper! Going to have some leftovers here soon. Thanks for a wonderful recipe...lower fat content too.

Apple Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
Loved it! The dressing was very tasty. We used a salad shooter and the texture was more ground up than the picture looked, but still wonderful. I think I'll keep using the shooter to grate the veggies. I omitted the red bell pepper, do not really care for it in slaw. Delish!

Smothered Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
We made this for a quiet "Super Bowl" meal. It was fantastic. We used large T-bones as the filet's were quite small at the butcher shop that day. We also made with Moms Sweet Potato casserole and Apple Cole slaw from this site. We served creme brulee for desert. It was probably one of the best meals we have had in a long time.I will never be able to eat steak just plain again. Thank you for a great recipe!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Awesome! I make one similar (less steps)but this was worth every step. I think I could cut some back with the same results. I used my mini processor to finely cut the celery...we don't like just diced. I did sprinkle sharp cheddar cheese on top....excellent.
