Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
Wonderful flavor! One of the best chicken dinners I've ever made and I've made many through the years. My husband asks for this almost every week. He says this tops the best Chicken Marsala he's ever had in any 5 star restaurant. I did add much more Marsala wine then called for since I didn't have cooking sherry but it still came out great. Thanks for a wonderful recipe Lisa!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
My daughter and I have been baking this cake for many years. The recipe was found on the back of the cocoa can. My daughter won first place in her Girl Scout bakeoff with this cake about twenty five years ago. We always use the buttercream frosting from the Wilton cook book using shortening and butter flavor rather then stick butter. This cake is so very moist and rich. The strong coffee is a must. I'm happy to see so many others enjoy it as well.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Very good recipe. Thanks Hallie. I actually simmered the pork chops in my cast iron pan using all the ingredients listed in the recipe. However I did change the soup as I only had one can of cream of mushroom. I also used one can of cream of celery. Most cream soups blend well with flavor. I covered the frying pan and simmered for about an hour. I served the chops and sauce over pasta springs and peas. My family loved how tender and tasty the chops were. Thanks again Hallie. Your recipe is a hit in our house!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I absolutely love this recipe. You can easily control the spiciness by simply using mild, medium or hot salsa. I made it on a cold snowy night and my family loved it. The leftovers are even better. I didn't change a thing as I believe in trying a recipe first as the writer intended in order to leave an honest review. Thanks for this recipe.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Best Pulled Pork recipe ever! I took the advise of others and used a pork sholder rather then tenderloin and was very happy with the results. I also used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and was happy with it. I didn't change a thing. I believe in trying a recipe just as the writer intended in order to write a true review. This didn't disappoint. This recipe will be a great addition to family and office functions. Thanks for the recipe! I recommend it highly.

Monkey Bread V

Excellent recipe! Quick, fun and super easy to put together. Great to do with children and grandchildren. However, do not over bake. My last batch turned out hard and dry but that was my fought for leaving it in the oven too long. As some other reviewers, I too used brown sugar rather then white. Great way to warm up the house with yummy aromas on a cold winter's night.

Christmas Eve Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I read this recipe in a Christmas novel submitted by it's author years ago and have used it since. My kids grew up on it and love it. My sister and I used to make this while on vacation in her crock pot. It's that easy and delish! I recomend this reciipe 100%! Just put everything in crock, stir and walk away. Dinner will be ready when you are. No mess. This recipe will stay in our family forever.

Fantastic recipe Alice! Made it just as you listed. Next time I'll add peas but I'm not changing anything else. My husband who is always leery of trying new recipes, actually went for seconds! This is already filed in my recipe box. Very quick and easy and great to whip up after work. Thank you so much for sharing.

Layered Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
Best salad I ever had! Wonderful for showers. For a baby shower, we added some raisins, grapes and maddarin orange slices. You wouldn't believe how nice they went with ranch dressing. In the fall it's nice to sprinkle whole fresh cranberries. For this salad, you can go wild with your imagination. Thank you for sharing. You gave a beautiful presentation.

Pineapple Stuffing

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
Wonderful recipe! I've made this for years. I just tripled the recipe for my daughter's wedding shower and received many compliments and requests for the recipe. Before baking, I sprinkle a little cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg on top. After baking, I arrange some maraschino cherries on top for appearance. This is a big hit at all functions and extremely easy to make.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
Wonderful recipe! My family enjoyed it so much that I'll make it every time. I threw in some meatballs rather then meatsauce but still great. The only problem with this recipe is that it's so good that you tend to eat way too much! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
