About this Cook
My name is Mollie and I'm married to one of the worlds pickiest eaters! When my husband and I first married, I would get so frustrated because he wouldn't try any new foods. Slowly I have convinced him to try more dishes and he loves them all for the most part. I have an 18 year old son who is a pretty good cook himself. I always thought I was a decent cook until I became a stay at home mom and started watching all the cooking shows. I had so much to learn! But now I love to cook and can whip up pretty much anything. My latest challege is cooking for large groups of people. My husband and I are getting into dinner parties, but I'm terrified of cooking for groups larger than six. We always stick with my husbands homemade pizza or barbeque. I'd llike to try doing a gourmet dinner for a group. If I can get over my fear that is! I love Allrecipes.com; It's the best site for great new dishes and great tips!
My favorite things to cook
I recently discovered that I love to bake cakes. I also love to make Italian dishes and enjoy them with a new wine. My families favorite dish that I make is Chicken Picatta.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Family potluck get togethers are always fun.
My cooking triumphs
Italian creme cake.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a dish I had made in 8th grade called "Molly's Pizza Sandwich". It involved ground beef and bisquick. My mom actually found the old recipe and I expected it to taste as good as when I was 13. It was awful. The crust was underdone and it had no flavor. Oh well!

Bacon Chicken II
I make a similar recipe and it's really pretty good, you just need to adjust it to your taste. I salt and pepper lightly pounded chicken breasts, layer a single strip of bacon over each, and then I brush the BBQ sauce over each piece (on top of the bacon). The bacon doesn't get super crispy, but neither does the bacon on a filet mignon. It's more about the flavor. It's a great recipe for those days when your plans to bbq get rained out. My family really enjoy it served with baked beans and garlic bread.

Vegetable Fried Rice
This was really good. I used vegetable oil and a little bacon grease to saute the chopped onion. I also added chopped carrots & frozen peas. The dish was delicious served along side baked salmon.

Beef Bacon Rolls
These were quite good. I clarified the butter as suggested by another reviewer. I also only used a/b 1/3 cup. After I cooked them, I removed them & added 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar to the sauce in the pan and 3 tbs. brown sugar, and reduced it to a nice glaze, then ladled it over the beef rolls. Everyone enjoyed it and my husband said it's a "make again".
