I live with my wife and my dog, Tasha, who is an Akita. We are really blessed in the fact that we both enjoy being in the kitchen, as well as spending time with one another. I am disabled and so I do most of the cooking during the week so that my wife can focus on her career. It seems to work for us, except on weekends when I have to let her into "my" kitchen". She is incredible in there so it's not that much of a sacrifice. Friends and family say that we are perfect together because I cook and she bakes.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking things that I knew when I was a child and in the kitchen with my Mom. She was from Italy. My mother passed her love of cooking onto her children. She often said that what was in your heart would come out on the plates that you served to family & friends. Sauce, Pasta Fagiole, Gnocchi etc. . . I am also blessed with a wife that enjoys being in the kitchen as much if not more than myself.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have to stay with my roots and say Italian cooking. It is where my heart and memories go when I'm in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Beef Wellington was quite a success and I would have to say Gnocchi ai Quattro Formaggio
My cooking tragedies
We were having my brother-in-law and his family over. I decided to make a pasta sauce that I had never made before to serve with ravioli. Well, let me just say that by the end of the meal my brother-in-law was eating the ravioli with no sauce in his fingers and his children were thrilled to have hot dogs.
