Mother of Twins ~ Identical Boys
About this Cook
Southern Hippie Gal. 50 years old. Born and raised in Atlanta GA. Have 9 year old indentical twin boys. Other family members 8 dwarf rabbits, 4 dogs, 11 cats and 1 lizard. My favorite dish is SUSHI / SASHIMI. But, I must admit having it made for me is the BEST. I've made it several times, but it just isn't the same as made by the professional sushi chefs, and the variety of fishes to choose from. Growing up I chose a night that I would cook something for my family (something new and different). My Dad was a bit hard to please as he is a meat and potatoes man, but would always eat what I had prepared. Planning and preparing for parties is one of my specialties. I enjoy watching the people eat and commenting on my dishes more than I like eating it myself. Experimenting and trying new things is always fun. I've created several of my own recipes and will share some soon on this website. One more thing about me I love this website!
My favorite things to cook
Fish is my favorite thing to cook (baked, broiled or grilled). Stir-fry is, also, one of my specialties.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family (Mom / Sister) have made it a tradition to nominate me for the appetizers for all holidays. My children love to help make Sunday morning breakfast. My husband is the Grillmaster (of course I had to teach him 'smile'). Thanksgiving and Christmas are always fun family cooking days. We all hang out in the kitchen together cooking.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs are using my Mother's electric stove when helping her in the kitchen. My preferred is the gas like my own. Perfecting guacamole and sushi rice has been two of my major accomplishments.
My cooking tragedies
Once, I accidently put corn meal in my chocolate pie mix instead of flour, but realized it immediately after dumping in the boiler. Too Late!

Appetizer Meatballs
This is a keeper. Very delicious and easy to make. Made Christmas day for my family. I always do a buffet with lots of appetizer dishes. The next day my husband was asking for leftovers ~ sorry LOL! Made just as recipe states. Thank you for sharing.

Linda's Fake and Bake Chicken
Think this would be much better omitting the salt. My family did not like this at all. Just too salty. Might try again without the salt. Thank you for sharing.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms II
Very good. Simple and quick. Like some of the other comments, I, too, broiled for 10 minutes instead of the recommended 2-3. Thank you for sharing.
