Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
This tastes like what my grandma used to make! I substituted chicken broth for the water, did not add the salt, and cooked it all in the crockpot for 8 hours. 1/2 hour before serving, I pulled out a cup of soup and blended it, then added it to the crockpot to thicken.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

I've had a lot of marinades that were tasty, but this simple marinade really brings out the steak flavor in your steak. Will use again

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
I made these for Christmas neighbor gifts this year, and they were a hit! Many people asked me for the recipe. THe changes I made: Like most people suggested, I reduced to 1 cup cheese. I also made three cheese balls per packet of ranch dressing mix. (The original recipe is too strong) Instead of pecans, I rolled in walnuts.

Simply Traditional Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
Easy recipe for lasagna. Not only does it eliminate the boiling of the noodles, but you don't have to add egg and parm to the ricotta like most recipes call for. The only problem that we had was that the lasagna should have more ricotta cheese in it than the recipe calls for. Use at least 16oz or 24 oz. Other than that, it's a keeper

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
This meal has become a favorite in our family. It is very kid friendly and mild. For those who like a little kick, just keep a bottle of tabasco handy. We often add 1/2 lb cooked shrimp to the pot just before putting the lid on

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
These are now my favorite homemade cookie. They are fairly easy, and the flavor is divine. Like other reviewers, I suggest adding a little bit more flour for shaping (1/2 to 3/4 cup). Also, while the dough does not need to be refrigerated, chilling helps in shaping the dough

Amusement Park Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2005
This cornbread recipe has become a staple at our house now. We pour our batter into muffin tins instead of the skillet. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the cornbread doesn't taste as good the next day. Best eaten fresh out of the oven.

Crushed Pineapple Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2004
This recipe has become a staple in our dessert making. It's so easy to prepare, with items you most likely have on hand, and really delicious. We have substituted plain yogurt for the sour cream with success. I know that others have complained that their pie didn't set up. We haven't had a problem. . .we always stir it by hand, not by mixer.

Banana Cream Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2002
I made the recipe with two pie shells like reviewers said here. Made them for my husband's work, and poor hubby didn't even get any because it was consumed in minutes! I've experimented with the cheesecake flavored pudding , as well as banana cream. Its all good
