I love to bake, but recently have been trying my hand at more cooking. My favorites are soups, lentils, salads... oh heck, I love it all! We didn't have too many cooking traditions in my family, so I've had to forge my own. For me, it's all about the ingredients- Always fresh, always from scratch, and always the best that I can afford. A few years back I made a complex chocolate cake from scratch- two layers with thick chocolate frosting. It was terrible! Inedible, in fact. Still don't know what happened there...
