About this Cook
I'm a single 49 year old woman from Marysville OH. I work at the auto plant here, have one son, 30, who lives in KY. I have 4 grandchildren who I love very much. I pretty much stay on a diet Monday thru Thursday and on the weekends I cook and eat out a lot. My favorite restaurants are Red Lobster and Roosters (the best chicken wings ever).
My favorite things to cook
I love making chicken wings, anything italian, sausage gravy and biscuits, fried potatoes, and I love smoking any kind of meat, shrimp, crab legs and macaroni and cheese
My favorite family cooking traditions
Biscuits and gravy, soup beans and cornbread, chicken and dumplings, anything on the grill
My cooking triumphs
homemade spaghetti sauce, nacho dip, fettucini alfredo, macaroni and cheese, and meatballs
My cooking tragedies
took ingrediants to my parent's house to make chicken and dumplings and not used to using her stove I turned the pot on high instead of low and it burnt-they all ate it but I couldn't make myself do it LOL

Best Fried Green Tomatoes
I have to say I have never had fried green tomatoes as good as these...the picture is just what they look like and they taste as good as they look. The only changes I made was I cut the tomatoes about an hour before cooking and sprinkled salt on one side of them (to extract the moisture out of them which makes the breading stick better) and after I cooked them I sprinkled with fresh grated parmesan cheese. I also made sure the oil was very hot-cooked on medium high heat. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and they were awesome. Will definetley make these the same way again and again!! If you haven't tried these your missing out. Thank you so much for sharing such a great recipe!!!

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce
I made this last night and I have to say-it's delicious. It's sweet but has a nice tang to it. Very easy to make. I put it in my little slow cooker-added about 1/4 cup of water and just let it go for about 4 hours-it was awesome. Your grandfather did a great job with this sauce. Thanks Sean for sharing this.

Sweet Spicy Wings
This was absolutely wonderful!!! I could honestly eat chicken wings 7 nights a week-actually have before-and these are one of the best I've had-restaurant quality and then some. I cut the recipe in half because it was just me here and it worked great. I will be making these again soon. Thanks so much for a great recipe! Update 12/28/09 I've made these too many times to count-it is the best ever-I deep fry my wings and just roll in the sauce. I also bread them in Hooters wing breading and let sit about an hour in the fridge. These are better than any restaurant wings I've ever had! Thanks again for sharing!
