Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Filling was delicious! Dough was very bland. Maybe next time I'll sprinkle salt and parmesan cheeese on top before baking it.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Great flavor. Soft cookie that turned out more "dry" than moist and chewy. I used an insulated pan and it took 14 min to bake.

Spinach and Rice (Spanakorizo)

I used 1 Tbs tomato paste instead of tomato sauce and chicken stock in place of water. I also topped with feta and lemon. Great flavor!

Baked Apple Oatmeal

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I halved the recipe and baked it for 30 min. It didn't look very appetizing, so I probably wouldn't serve it to company. The flavor was good, but the dish was on the dry side. I served it in bowls with milk poured over it (like cereal). It was pretty good that way. I would probably make this again, but maybe not cook it as long or add more milk.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I had a 4 lbs bone-in breast and it came out on the dry side... overcooked. I should have relied on my meat thermometer instead of the clock to tell me when it was done. I'm going to try this again, but will check on it earlier next time.

Pumpkin Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
I used 1.5 cups of fresh pumpkin and the flavor didn't come through. It tasted like a vanilla cupcake. Next time I'll use canned pumpkin. It might be more flavorful. The cupcake was very moist and delicious though.

Baked Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Style

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
This is a great base recipe. I baked the lasagna in a dish instead of in the squash shell. I used jarred tomato sauce and Italian seasoned ground turkey. I was surprised at how good this was. It was so yummy!

YUM! Also great with goat cheese, if you don't have brie. I made both side by side and the goat cheese seemed a little sweeter.

Sausage Hash With Apples & Sage

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
Yummy! I omitted the sage & parsley and added fresh basil instead. I also put an egg (over easy) on top of each serving. The runny yolk added an extra depth of flavor to this already tasty dish. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Fabulous recipe! I took the advice from others and substituted orange juice in place of water and put the mix in the fridge for a half an hour for easy handling. The OJ had a subtle flavor and surprisingly brought out the ginger. Very easy! I will make this again.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Came out more like a cake than a cobbler. I only used 2 Tbs butter and 1/2 cup sugar. For fruit, I used sweet plums and tart nectarines. It tasted okay and was better topped with vanilla ice cream.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Great recipe even if you're missing some of the ingredients. I omitted the wine and celery because I had none on hand and it was still very tasty served over rice. I made this with ground turkey instead of beef and cubed the potatoes. The cinnamon and clove spices are what makes the dish five star!

Zucchini Yogurt Multigrain Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
I used all whole wheat flour instead of white and used oatmeal in place of oat flour. I cut the oil to 1/4 cup and added 1/2 cup ground flax seed. I also cut out the sugar completely. The muffins were moist and yummy. Straight out of the oven it tasted a little weird... I thought, "I should have added the sugar." BUT once it cooled down completely, it tasted so much better! I don't think I'll add sugar next time around.

Cinnamon Rice with Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
I substituted brown rice and it was still yummy. The apple juice I used was cold, so it took longer to cook... 1.5 hours! The liquid boiled off in about 45 min, but the rice was still hard. I had to keep adding water a cup at a time, letting it boil off, until the rice cooked. I was surprised at how long it took, but it was worth the wait. This is really good with the brown sugar pork chops from this website.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
I used pork top loin and marinated (using everything except cornstarch & water) for a couple of hours before baking at 350 for 35 minutes. I quickly boiled the left-over marinade with 1 tsp of cornstarch to thicken and served it as sauce on the side. Great flavor!

Tasty marinade! I love that it only takes 30 minutes to marinate. Perfect blend of sweet and salty. I grilled the salmon and served it over spinach salad with strawberries. Great meal for a warm summer night.
