Apple Bacon Tomato Soup
This was a good hearty soup, but not spectacular. However, I do believe it is because I chose some of the wrong variables. Next time would use a granny smith apple and dice so that the apple retains its flavor (I used Fuji). I would also pick a higher quality bacon and definitely thick cut. Overall a decent soup. Cooking apples in with the wine though - that's a whole new culinary world in itself. Thanks!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I bought several apples to take for my lunch, but realized after one that my tummy has developed an aversion to raw apples . So, I came across this recipe and followed it exactly. By far the BEST apple pie I have ever had. It has such a great caramel-apple flavor and is so simple. I will make time and again.

Wonderful Short Ribs
Well, this went over like gangbusters! I also browned the ribs, sweat the onions, and deglazed with a zinfindel. We're making "Italian" enchiladas with the leftovers! YUM!
