About this Cook
I've lived in Chicago for five years...with no roomates for 3. I love cooking and I love sharing my cooking with friends and co-workers, if for no other reason then to hear 'This is great...you actually MADE this?!!' I love trying new dishes and using ingredients I've never used before. :)
My favorite things to cook
I love making Italian food (especailly my own pasta). I also like making Asian and Southern dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Christmas time with my family. We make the same dishes we did when I was a child (served in the same bowls too, I think!). It just really takes me back.
My cooking triumphs
I have two dishes that I always feel comfortable serving...chili and lasagna. And after about a year, I can finally stir-fry and not have it turn into soup.
My cooking tragedies
It seems like no matter what recipe I follow, my mashed potatoes are either glue or taste like water. :)

Aunt Bev's Famous Apple Pie
This is a great recipe, so easy. It has become the 'apple pie recipe' we use for the holidays. YUM!

Pot Roast in Foil
This was delicious. I wish I would have used two cans of soup so there had been more gravy. Instead of wrapping everything in foil I covered the 9x13 in foil and it worked just as well. I've always been wary of making pot roast becuase my mom's was never that tasty (sorry Mom, I love you anyway!). But this was so good and so simple.

Easy Key Lime Pie I
This pie was delicious! I just happened to find fresh key limes at my grocery store and the hardest part of this recipe was squeezing them (a whole pound) for the 1/2C of juice! I will make this again (and again) for sure!! :)
