Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Cinnabons are good, but I like these better! I used my bread machine on dough setting for the first time. The dough was EASY to work with, light and fluffy when baked. I will add a bit more cinnamon next time, that's what WE like! Also, next time, I'll only use half the box of pudding, as the recipe stated. I've made lots of cinnamon roll recipes, and none have turned out like these did! Thanks for this recipe!

Vanilla Ice Cream V

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
This is a delicious real cream ice cream. I have tried several and this will be the keeper. I did take the suggestions of other readers by dissolving the sugar in 1/4 cup water. I also will try the gelatin to help it set up better. The hardening process is a bit tough for me to get right. I like to do it in the machine, packed in salt and ice. It is a great recipe!

Refried Beans Without the Refry ala Becca

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
I just put on the 4th pot of these beans. This time I've mixed pintos and black beans. I did adjust the salt by half and added more cumin for our tastes. We have never made refried out of these beans. We end up eating them as bean soup and the leftovers seem to disappear in lunches. Thanks for this great basic recipe. It's wonderful!

Great recipe, and easy to adapt to personal tastes. Hubby prefers more dressing, so I doubled the ingredients and he was happy!

Cranberry Streusel Pie w/Becca

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This pie is delicious! I did however make a change as cranberries come in 12 ounce bags here. In order to fill my pan, I added two medium apples and chopped them in small pieces before mixing them in. I also added 1/2 cup oats and 2 tbs butter to the streusel topping. I did not use melted shortening. It came our great! We love cranberries this time of year! Thanks for a great recipe!

Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
This cake is very tasty and very big! I baked mine in a 13x9 pan and it rose an inch over the top. It did not run over, but it came close! The streusel was a good amount. Next time I'll swirl it around some in the pan after layering the batter/streusel. Everyone at work enjoyed it!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I by Becca

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
I followed suggestions of decreasing the sugar and adjusting the flavorings. The adjustments made this near perfect! Next time I will decrease the sugar a bit more..it was still plenty sweet. It doesn't last long though! Thanks for the recipe!

Roasted Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This was a very tasty way to prepare turkey legs. I made the sauce, but didn't have the pomengranate molases, so I used half regular molasses and half honey to make up the difference. I used fresh sage. I basted the legs 3 times during the roasting. Hubby said they were great too! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
Wow, I just made this frosting with the cocoa. It is quick, easy, and delicious. It is a great basic frosting that is forgiving; too thin? add some powdered sugar, too thick, a few drops of milk. Great recipe, I'll use this one all the time! I used half & half instead of milk, it worked great!

Apple Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
This is a very easy recipe that I have made a couple of times already. My only change was to add a tsp of vanilla to the sauce mixture just before pouring it over the dumplings. I even used the little blue "box" pastry mix. Very Yummy!

This is a great variation on the standard recipes. Husband loved it! Only change I made was to add 1 cup mini chocolate chips to the batter. Thanks for this recipe.

Amish Friendship Bread Starter

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I just used this starter with the Amish Chocolate Bread found on this site. I only added 1 cup mini chocolate chips and otherwise followed that recipe. It is great. My starter worked out perfectly. I have seen several variations of the 10 day process, and they have all worked well. I'm glad to finally find a starter recipe I can begin on my own!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
This was really a good recipe. I doubled the recipe, but did not double the amount of butter. I added about 2-3 TBS sugar and it was great! I took it to a potluck picnic today and had several requests for the recipe. Hubby had two huge helpings. I guess that says it all :) I usually try not to alter the recipe very much the first time I make it from this site. But I knew we prefer a sweeter cornbread and we are watching the cholesteral here. Again, thanks for sharing this recipe!

Frozen Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I just made these muffins. I searched for a recipe that used frozen blueberries as I had them on hand. I followed the recipe exactly, but did not use the ginger/sugar on top. I did use the granulated sparkling sugar since we don't care for gingery flavors. Hubby is in heaven on earth for the moment. I got 12 regular and 6 jumbo muffins from this recipe. They are moist, flavorful and hard to keep from eating one after the other :) Even though there is just two in our household, bet I have a tough time getting many into the freezer! Try this and enjoy! 7/28/09: I tried a recipe from a country cookbook and it did not compare to this one at all! What a waste of time it was, but this one is the bomb! No more new recipes for blueberry muffins at our house!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
This recipe did not impress me all that much. Maybe I need to make it again. The batter was so thick and it still tasted like a box cake. It was ok, as far as a cake goes, dark chocolate color, but lacked something for me.
