About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make cinnamon rolls every Easter. My dinner menus change with each holiday. I always like to try one or two new recipes. I am also a crazy cookie baker during the holidays. I make at least ten different types and throw in a few new cookies to try. It's not very often that the new ones make it on the list year after year.
My cooking triumphs
I long to make as good of a pie crust as my mother.

Oatmeal Baked Chicken
I thought it was pretty good but I think I will grind up the oatmeal next time. My kids didn't want to eat it because they could "see" the oatmeal.

Salmon Rosemary Burgers
Quite good. I sliced the patties and served it on toasted hoagie rolls.

Seafood Chowder
I changed this recipe up a bit since I used what I had on hand. I didn't use any of the fat-free items and just used regular ol' block of cream cheese and 2% milk. I had a bag of frozen seafood mix that happened to be calamari, shrimp, etc.... So, I used that on top of the canned clams (which I used 2 of) and some extra shrimp that I had. I precooked the potatoes (I used red) and it was probably close to 2 cups. I also added more pepper and OLD BAY seasoning. I think without the flavoring it would be pretty bland. I took the advice of adding the corn later, too.
