About this Cook
I like to cook when I have time but like most people I don't have the time to do elaborate meals on a daily basis. I am a yoga teacher (check out my website at www.serenityyoga.ca) and take care of my husband, son and loveable but crazy dog, Buddy. I love quick and easy and healthy meals!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook stir-fries and anything that goes in the slow cooker. I'm a morning person who doesn't like to face the "what's for dinner?" question at 5:00 every day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big Christmas and other special occasion dinners. I don't often host these events (I get stressed out!) but I love to help my mom or mother in law in the kitchen at big family gatherings.
My cooking triumphs
Baking birthday cakes for my son like the fire truck cake that was a big hit at his 3rd birthday party.
My cooking tragedies
Anything that gets me stressed out - like trying to host Thanksgiving dinner one year. I couldn't seem to get everything ready at the same time. I guess that just comes with practice!

Butter Bean Burgers
I'm a new vegetarian and so I'm looking for great recipes like this. I used a can of chickpeas and left out the spicy peppers. Love it!

Blonde Brownies I
Excellent!! These are now a staple at my house because they are so easy to put together and everyone loves them. I also doubled and baked in a 9x13 pan, allowing about 25 minutes in the oven. Also left out the nuts and mixed the chocolate chips right in. Also good with milk chocolate chips. Yum!

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I
Very banana-y flavoured with 4 bananas. Also wet in the middle even after baking for over an hour. Otherwise very happy with the way it turned out. Will decrease bananas to 3 next time.
