I was born and raised in a small rural town in Washington State. I've been married to the same wonderful man for almost 25 years now. That's a real accomplishment these days! We have two grown children, a son and daughter and three beautiful grandchildren, a girl and twin boys whom we absolutely adore! I manage an assisted living facility and am always looking for new recipes. It's a challenge to try and keep menus for 15 residents new and fresh! I miss both of my grandmother's cooking terribly! My paternal grandmother made the best chicken and dumplings ever and a chocolate zucchini cake with chocolate frosting that melted in your mouth! My maternal grandmother made the absolute best milk gravy from fried chicken drippings and the most lucious kuchens ever! Some of these foods I've tried to re-create but they just never turn out like grandmas, and a couple of the recipes were never written down and died when they did. How I miss them both!
