About this Cook
I'm a busy, multi-tasking woman who loves to cook! I cook dinner every night and it truly serves as my stress relief for the day.
My favorite things to cook
I'm allergic to tomatoes, so I really enjoy finding substitutes for tomatoes. I became allergic to them at age 18, so I had already fallen in love with the simple pleasures of life like cold pizza, sloppy joes, and chili on a cold winter day. I am happy to say that there isn't anything I haven't been able to make and make it taste just as good as if there were tomatoes in it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies! The entire process of figuring out which cookies to make every year and then baking them, decorating them! I love it!
My cooking triumphs
I love hosting holiday dinners at my house and at the end of the night I always feel like those are my cooking triumphs! I start the day before and plan everything out and print out a schedule of my day for times I have to start things, what will be cooling while something else is in the oven, when the meat has to go in, etc. I love it, but it's a ton of work and I want everything to be perfect. So far, I haven't had to get takeout, so I count every single holiday as a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I've been very lucky so far that everything I've made has been edible -- perhaps not delicious, but at least edible. I've had more of the everyday tragedies that make life comical - like not covering something in the microwave and being about 0.5 seconds away from it as you watch it explode. Or putting a pot holder on a hot burner and have it catch on fire. Or forgetting about the garlic bread under the broiler until the smoke detector goes off.

Southern Ham and Brown Beans
Edible, but definitely nothing extraordinary. I was expecting more given all the good reviews. Bland and we prefer our other bean recipe - thanks, but probably won't make again.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce
Very good! Made exactly as directed except simmered mine quite a bit longer as I like a thick barbeque sauce. Thanks for the recipe!
