About this Cook
I have 5 kids in all. 3 Bio and 2 Step. A multitude of picky eaters makes cooking stressful at times. I try to please everyone but I am not a short order cook either.
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love baking. I wish I could stay home all day and make all sorts of wonderful things for my kids and for my husband to come home to.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have any but I do like hosting dinners. I hope to have a traditional Sunday dinner with all my kids and future grand-kids someday but that better be far off in the future. ;)
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say I am most proud of my cinnamon rolls. I was very intimidated by them and thought it would be hours of hard labor but it is way easier than I thought it would be. Now if I could just make a perfect pie crust, I would be set.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
The only change I made to this recipe is I baked some chicken breast first in the oven with some cumin and chili powder on top. Then threw it in the crockpot. This is a soup we will add to our rotation.

Chili I
I followed the recipe as is other than cutting back the sugar some and not so many cans of beans. We made it the night before and let it simmer in the crockpot for a few hours before retiring it to the fridge. The next day we placed it back in the crockpot and believe me, the wait was worth it. Trust the other reviewers when they say the next day is much better!! I was even skeptical the night before and was worried I may have wasted a lot of ingredients. I will make this again and again.

Parmesan Baked Potatoes
This was pretty good. It was good way to serve potatoes when you are looking for a different way to serve them. I think it needs pepper or something else to give it more flavor though.
