Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This dough worked up beautifully. I usually have a problem with cutout cookies spreading and becoming too crispy, but these stayed true to shape and remained soft. They seem just a bit salty, but I used self-rising flour, so maybe that is the reason. Thanks!

Garlic Red Potatoes

These tasted really good, but they didn't want to brown for some reason. I eventually served them anyway, and they were well-received.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Even my husband, who doesn't like jalapenos, loved this dip. I combined suggestions from a few others, using cheddar & Panko crumbs on top and serving with tortilla chips. Very good & EASY!

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I loved the pork chops and the broth, but will probably just thicken with flour & make a cream gravy next time. Though we love sour cream, it just didn't "work" for us in this-- maybe because I used light sour cream... Anyway, I will definitely make this again, just adapt the gravy to better uit my family. Thanks!

One Pot Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I tasted these beans after mashing and decided they were already so delicious, why add the mozzarella & pico de gallo? I halved the recipe, added a chicken bouillon cube, just added salt to taste, and mashed coursely with a potato masher. They still had lots of texutre, but were thick & creamy. Delicious!

Green 'N' Gold Veggies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
We thought this was delicious. Green beans & corn are vegetables my kids will eagerly eat, so it seems we eat them ALL THE TIME. I tried this recipe in hope of breaking the monotony for the adults but still pleasing the children. This was a hit with both groups. I will definitely decrease the salt next time, but will make it againg & again.

Apple Dumplings with Rich Cinnamon Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
These were delicious! Deceptively simple, too, although mine weren't picture-perfect. I'll blame that on the three year-old rolling the dough. This will become a new go-to dessert recipe in my house! Thanks.

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
These are so easy! I remember my mother making these years ago, but hers seemed to have more tang from the mayo. I may increase it next time to recreate her results. I will use this recipe repeatedly. Thanks!

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Awesome! I used the full amount of sugar as my apples were very tart, but could probably cut the amount with equally delicious results. We couldn't get enough of these!

Baked Potato Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I loved the potatoes, bacon, green onions, & cheese. I used a packaged crust mix (which I rarely use) and was not happy with it at all. It was bland and didn't brown properly. I think next time I will make a homemade crust, combine the sour cream with some ranch dressing, and omit the Italian seasoning. I'll stick to basil & garlic instead. Thanks for the recipe-- I will definitely make it again!

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
This is very good, very easy, and tastes remarkably like an eclair. I did not have frosting, so made a simple topping of semisweet chips, butter, and confectioner's sugar. Will rely on this for a quick standby!

Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
We really like this soup for something different. It reminded us of New England Clam Chowder. I used all of the ingredients listed, but not in the proportions recommended. Used one 14.5 oz. can of salmon, one can each evaporated milk, creamed corn, and chicken broth. I didn't measure the vegetables, but used 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, salt, & pepper, & 1 tsp. dill. Will make again!

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
This beef was very good, though the broth was very salty (and I love salty!). I put the beef on about 9pm and we ate it around 1:30pm the following day. It was perfectly tender. I diluted part of the broth and used it in a cream gravy over mashed potatoes. I will definitely use this recipe again, but will probably reduce either the soy sauce or seasoning to avoid the saltiness.

Blueberry Pound Cake

This was the simplest, most delicious cake I have ever made. I could have eaten the entire thing myself! I used frozen blueberries, but can't wait to try it with fresh when they are in season. This will become my new go-to recipe for potlucks & family dinners. THANKS!

Brunch Pizza Squares

This was very easy to assemble and pretty good. I served it for a quick dinner with fried potatoes & fruit. Next time, I will add some sauteed onions & peppers for more flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

Taco Seasoning I

This was great! I was out of onion powder, but it worked well without it. I used this in Slow Cooker Taco Soup from this site (which is fabulous!), and it was perfect. I will use all the time!

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
I used this recipe as a guideline, but made many changes. I prebaked a refrigerated pizza crust, used Kraft original mixed with honey, topped with LOTS of chicken, sauteed onion & peppers, and topped with mozzarella & cheddar. Because I had an appointment and needed a quick dinner later, I put the pizza together, covered with foil & refrigerated for a few hours until I arrived home. Then I baked for 20 minutes. The results were delicious!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I made some minor changes to this recipe based on other reviews, but the results were great. I used 6 eggs, 2 cups half and half, and flipped halfway through the baking time. I added the syrup mixture after flipping. We loved it!
