This recipe was far too sweet for my family's taste, and it took too long to finish (waiting for the shortbread to cool, waiting for the "caramel" to condense). Also, I was hoping for more of a caramel taste, but it really tasted too much like butterscotch.

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

While this recipe sounded good, the vinaigrette didn't really turn out all that well for me, and the apples ended up quite brown. I think I'll stick with another vinaigrette.

Warm and Limey Chicken Salad

This recipe was pretty good, but it had A LOT of lime in it. Next time I think I'll cut down on the amount of lime juice called for in the recipe. Otherwise, it was light and tangy, and nice for a summer dinner.

Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

This recipe isn't very good at all! It's not very creamy and is quite bland. Also, there are too many mushrooms, and not enough chicken. I would definitely not recommend this casserole, especially since it requires a lot of labour.

This recipe was okay - although the marinade was a bit too lemony and a bit too sweet all at the same time! Next time I think I'll cut down on both the honey and the lemon.

Beezie's Black Bean Soup

I didn't like this recipe at all - there was too much cumin in it! And while at first having this huge mix of vegetables, rice and beans sounded good - it was too much! Many different ingredients and yet still bland.

Bessy's Zesty Grilled Garlic-Herb Chicken

This recipe was okay, but it had A LOT of olive oil in it. Also, the saffron was too expensive and didn't add much taste. If you cut down on the olive oil and eliminate the saffron, the recipe is good, but I wouldn't put it into my regular rotation of recipes.

Cranberry Swirl Coffee Cake

This recipe was very good. I made the crumb topping as suggested by another reviewer, and that was delicious! My only complaint was that it was a little dry. I think it would have been better if it was only cooked for 50 minutes.

Aunt Dot's Brunswick Stew

This recipe had an odd mixture of flavours. Also, I love salt, but even this was too much! I recommend removing the regular salt altogether, and just keeping the garlic salt. Overall, an interesting recipe, but not one I'll put into my regular meal planning.
