About this Cook
I'm a wife and mother of four girls (1997 and younger) and love to make new meals for my family. My two oldest daughters help in the kitchen very often. We eat semi-vegetarian & semi-healthy.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and I love to make vegetarian meals. I've really loved making things like pretzels and bagels lately, although I do use a bread machine for the dough.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I loved when we would all get together and bake when I was growing up.
My cooking triumphs
Getting my daughters to think of a recipe as their own.
My cooking tragedies
I always wanted to make divinity from a teenager on. Problem was I would try to make it without a thermometer. That never went very well

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
Wow I'm glad I tried this. Threw in rotel instead of the canned chillis and added black beans. I only added about 3/4 cup corn. Was absolutely wonderful. I did make the soft tortilla strips in the oven with a little garlic salt and they were great too.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust
I always cook it at 425 and it cooks more evenly than at 450. Love it! It's a great balance between rising for a long time and putting it in the pan right away. The kids love it. It's a bready crust.

Creamed Tuna On Toast
I rated 5 but I changed the recipe and left out the milk. I actually just threw together a can of tuna to a can of condensed soup and heated it up. The milk would have made it way too runny.
