About this Cook
I'm on the look out for quick and easy meals that taste good and don't take long or involve a large amount of work. But then, aren't we all? :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother makes these awesome Bierocks, a german food tradition that is a bread pocket filled with hamburger, onion, cabbage and sometimes cheese. They're incredible, and when I learned to make them I was a happy girl. :-) I also love her simple mac and cheese from scratch, her pizza, and her spaghetti. Mmmm!!!
My cooking triumphs
When I make 7 layer Dip or Artichoke Dip for parties, people rave! It makes me feel confident about my cooking skills.
My cooking tragedies
i have concentration problems when I make lasagna. I always forget to layer SOMETHING. One time I forgot to add the shredded cheese, but I was able to rectify it by picking up the noodle layers and sliding it underneath. (messy, but effective) Then the next time, I forgot to add the noodles! It ended up being "cheesy meat" with sauce. :-/ I'm going to keep trying, and eventually I might get it right, consistently!!! :-)

Sausage Balls
These are amazingly easy and delicious. I made them for brunch with friends last weekend, and it reminded me of Christmas. Like the recipe-submitter, these were also a Christmas morning tradition in my house growing up. Maybe they will be again!

Herbed New Potatoes
These were amazing, and are very forgiving when it comes to tweaks. My husband got red potatoes, not new potatoes, and they were cooked too long so when we tossed them with the butter/sour cream mixture they fell apart and became a cross between mashed and regular potatoes. However, they were still DELICIOUS and WONDERFUL. WIN!!!

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops
We made these for New Years dinner and they were pretty good! A little work intensive for prep, but delicious.
