Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
Regarding Paula Dean, nothing against her, but my Mom has been making Prime Rib this way long before she came on the scene so I doubt it is a recipe that needs to be "credited to" her.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
This could not be easier and is even somewhat healthy. I actually let the chicken breasts sit in the infused oil for about five hours before making and it still was not overpoweringly garlicy. It's a really good recipe that I think just about anyone would enjoy.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2007
It was somewhat reminiscent of an eclair, but the graham crackers tasted like graham crackers, not pate a choux. If you like really sweet desserts, you will like it though.

Strawberries and Cream Cake

This was just okay. Tasted sort of "store bought" to us.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
Absolutely delicious. I doubled it and used a bag of mixed frozen berries from Costco. My husband is a huge berry cobbler fan and he said this is a keeper.

G's Flank Steak Marinade

This is EXCELLENT. Used to marinate a couple of flat iron steaks. Incredible flavor, and we only had time to marinate for about 4 hours. Highly recommend!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
This truly is the world's best traditional lasagna. My husband and I both agree. The sauce is extremely good and well-balanced. Delicious. It's in my "keeper" file. I used no-boil noodles and assembled it the day before. So all I had to do was pop it in the oven the day of the party. Worked great!

Kiki's Sweet and Spicy Marinated Shrimp

I didn't love these. A little too sweet for my tastes. I'll keep looking for a marinated shrimp recipe...

Unique Fruity Green Salad

Reviewed: May 7, 2007
I like all of these ingredients together, minus the bananas, but the dressing was way too sticky sweet for my taste. I added a few more TBSPS of vinegar to try to sharpen it up, but it was still too clingy and sweet for me. I'm sure there are some people who like this type of dressing though. If I made it again, I would trade the honey for a little bit of white sugar.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
This was delicious and perfect when still warm from cooking. My husband doesn't like it warm though, so I chilled before serving and it was way to thick and heavy. I used Arborio rice, maybe that's why...?

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
This is absolutely delicious and I even made it without the bacon for a friend who doesn't eat pork. I can only imagine how good it would be with the added smokiness of the bacon. Mmmm. Can't wait to eat the leftovers tonight.

Baked Corn

I doubled this, but didn't double the amount of butter -- it was still PLENTY buttery. Served for a barbecue along with pulled pork and Texas brisket. It went really quickly! Will definitely make again.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
This is probably the best coleslaw I have ever had -- homemade or in a restaurant. One caveat. I made it in advance of a party, but tasted it immediately after dressing the shredded cabbage. I much prefer the "crispiness" of the just dressed slaw vs. the more wilted version you get after an hour or so.

Lawry's Chili Con Queso Dip

Made this for a party and placed it next to a platter of ice cold jumbo shrimp. This dip was the FIRST thing to go. Go figure! Everyone asked me how I made it-- I was a little embarrassed to tell them how easy. :)

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
This is delicious and I will make it again, but I'm still trying to find a recipe for the kind of cobbler that has a top more like a very thick pie crust. I'll keep looking. I do recommend this one though -- very good.

Florentine Artichoke Dip

This is really good. Brought it to a party as an appetizer and everyone seemed to love it. I cooked it longer than recommended because I wanted the top to be golden brown vs. lightly browned.

Greek Pasta Salad with Roasted Vegetables and Feta

Reviewed: May 9, 2006
Brought this to a party as a barbecue sidedish and everyone said they loved it. For my own personal taste, next time I will reduce the amount of pasta, so the ratio of vegetables to pasta is more like 50/50.
