Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Very good. Oddly, the bottom got very brown but the top didn't. I would probably stop the cooking time about 5 minutes sooner and instead broil the top.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Fantastic!! It did require a bit more cooking time than the original recipe stated. Give it plenty of time to chill in refrigerator. Also, I just used pumpkin pie spice (2 teaspoons total) in place of the spices listed. At first my husband was disappointed that he was not going to get his traditional pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, however his mood dramatically changed when he had a slice of this pie :)

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Loved these and my husband raved. Will definitely make these again. If grilling, make thick and add an ice cube to the center to keep it extra moist through cooking. Thanks for sharing this one! Michelle

Runzas (Bierocks)

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Loved these and they were very easy to make. We don't have Runzas around here, so this was a nice treat. Easy to customize for different tastes. Next time I will add mushrooms to the filling mix, but you could add anything. Thanks for the recipe! Michelle

Cheesy Baked Grits

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Really liked this as a side dish for dinner. Didn't have the parmesean, but had an Italian blend for pizza, which I substituted on top. That crunchy cheese layer on top added a lot of flavor. I think this really needs to cool off quite a bit in order to taste the cheese flavor of the grits, so I recommend cooling for a good 15 minutes before serving. I will definitely be making this again and maybe adding chopped bacon and scallions next time.

Delicious Chicken Casserole

Loved this! Very creamy and toddler ate it. I halved this recipe for our family of 4 and it was more than enough and we still had leftovers. Thanks for sharing!

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
Wow, this was fabulous! I did take the suggestions to cook the hot dogs first. Added mustard inside the tortillas and then topped with chopped onions between the top chili layer and the cheese layer. When you cover with foil, spray the cheese side with PAM otherwise it will stick and come off when you uncover it. I loved this and will be making it again!!! Michelle

Easy Baked Tilapia

Great Recipe. Mostly followed, but used butter, Old Bay, Lemon Pepper fish rub by McCormick, lemon slices and baked without the veggies. Turned out excellent, my husband who hates fish even liked it :)

Spinach Bacon Quiche

Very good. I was in a hurry and left the spinach out. Added another egg and extra cheese and came out perfect! This was great for a brunch and I got lots of compliments on this one. Michelle in Nashville

Crab Quiche I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
This was a very good quiche. I did add an extra egg and some extra swiss. I also added some bay seasoning and that really tasted good. Next time I may use some fresh crab meat with a dash of lemon juice - I used can crab and it was a tad fishy tasting. Michelle in Nashville

Baby Blue Punch

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
This tasted great, but the color didn't turn out well for me and the bowl looked dirty even though I used regular vanilla (not vanilla bean) ice cream. Not sure how to get that great blue color. Will try again though.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls

Well I made these for a gathering once and one girl liked them so much that she now makes them for all of our church functions - I feel that now I can't make them because that has become *her* recipe. They are delicious and huge hit, never any left.

Creamy Shrimp Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
These are terrific. I made them the night before and had a hard time trying to restrain myself from eating just one more. Each time I messed one up, I said, YES!!! Seriously - I left out the salt/pepper and instead added 1 Tablespoon of Old Bay Seasoning and it was fantastic!! Im sure you could use some Creole seasoning as well, but the Old Bay really tied the flavors together and made it salty enough so that no extra salt was needed. I highly recommend it! Good Luck.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
These were OK. I tried to save time and cook these faster than the time suggested, which may have contributed to my results. I think I will try this recipe again only using pork tenderloin and cooking it in the crockpot. Overall I thought the sauce was a little too rich for me though.

Tuna Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2006
I used this recipe as a base and took the advice of others to add some spices. I added fresh chopped parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the cheese/tuna mixture and then rolled the finished ball in more fresh parsley. It made a pretty green ball when it was finished and ended up being a great Christmas party appetizer. Next year I might try putting an ornament top with a string on it to make it look like an ornament. The flavor was wonderful.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2006
First of all, let me start by saying that I altered the recipe somewhat. I did do the 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar as suggested by previous reviews and that did make a nice difference. I didn't have walnuts, but threw in all different kinds of nuts (unsalted) from my pantry to make up a cup and the candied walnuts were terrific in this recipe - I'd like to make it again using just those. I think this would also be delicious with some chocolate chips added. Overall, I think that this recipe is very easy to tailor to your own tastes - it was a bit on the greasy side for me though and maybe not enough banana taste. I may try to make again using 1/2 butter and 1/2 applesauce. I did add vanilla extract, I think next time I'll add more banana though (maybe an extra 1/2 cup or so) or find some banana extract. Will definitely make again with alterations.

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
I thought this was a wonderful tasting soup and was very easy to put together. I work full-time and I'm always looking for meals that taste like you've slaved over them but only take 30 mins or less. Great served with grilled cheese sandwiches or just some good italian or sourdough bread/rolls. I did double the meat and also doubled the water and tomato sauce and added a can of kidney beans - also very good.

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
I got so many compliments on this dressing on a dinner salad I made. It was so delicious and extremely easy to make. I just have one recommendation and that is to chill it before serving, it will help it to firm up a little bit and make it a little creamier.
