Amish Friendship Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This is a great starting point. But I needs stuff added to it. I normally throw in a cup of raisins and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top. When I follow the recipe to the letter, the bread comes out very dry. I am hoping that is because my starter is made with non-fat milk. I bought a 1/2 gallon of whole milk to experiment, so we will see what happens.

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
I scaled it for 18 and didn't bother to try to swirl it. It is BEAUTIFUL layered. I did take some other suggestions and made the crust 1/2 ginger snap 1/2 graham cracker as well as adding a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. EVRERYONE RAVED about this. I made two for two parties and had no left overs!

BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
This is a wonderful recipe! My ENTIRE very picky family loved it. It has loads of flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. Unfortunately my family is not pro-garlic, so I decreased the garlic amount to 2 teaspoons of powdered garlic which is the equivalant of 6 cloves. Also, I don't like dark meat and I made this for a crowd, so I used 12 of the costco frozen Tyson chicken breasts that I boiled for about 45 minutes. I also doubled the sauce and it made the 12 shredded breasts nice and goopy. :) YUM!

Oh my. This is how I will always make flank from now on. It is soooo good. I pour this over the flank and put it in a foodsaver for 24 hours. YUM!

Cool Lime Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
I made it with real sugar and it tasted great. Not very limey though. I have an 8 1/2 inch spring form pan and it made a very low cheesecake. Next time I make this, I will scale it for 3 blocks of cream cheese instead.

Marinated Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
This was very good. I used two turkey boneless breast tenderloins and cooked them on the George Forman at 325 for 15 minutes. I skipped the cloves and marinated the breasts in a food saver for 8 hours. OH SO GOOD. My husband is VERY picky and he raved about this one. Definitely a keeper.

Caesar Mahimahi

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
I used sour cream instead of plain yogurt, only two garlic cloves, no anchovy paste and frozen mahi mahi steaks from trader joes. I grilled these on the George Foreman grill and they came out fantastically. There was not as much flavor as I was hoping for, but that may have been because I reduced the garlic and omitted the anchovy paste. My husband RAVED about this recipe. I will be making it again.

These were not moist or fluffy. They were also lacking in flavor. They sounded so good, but alas, they were tough and unflavorful.

Little Meat Loaves

This meatloaf is VERY good. My whole family loved it, even the picky "I don't like meatloaf" people loved it. I made it as one big loaf without the sauce, because my dad is diabetic. It was still terrific.

Garlic Chicken

I would rate the recipe as is a 3. Kinda boring. If you add all the stuff they say to in the other reviews it's pretty good. Made with spices it is about a 4.
