Here I am w/my son
About this Cook
My mother has always been a great cook. Spent many hours in the kitchen learning to cook authentic Chinese food. Funny that I used to hate cooking...finally found someone that I love cooking for!
My favorite things to cook
Big meals for family and friends are my favorite and of course Chinese food as it is what I know the most about thanks to mom! Love to attempt gourmet dishes as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unfortunately I don't have any family nearby, so I love when we get together and are all in the kitchen cooking together. Most recently was a family vacation with my brothers, their wives and children, we stayed in a large condo. We had so much fun making big breakfasts and dinners together. We never forget my brothers fried egg sandwich...fantastic morning after cure!
My cooking triumphs
I have actually had quite a few. I love having something at a resteraunt and then attempting it at home and succeeding!
My cooking tragedies
Once tried to make Ma-po tofu...I was missing a few ingredients and tried to subsitute a few too many things apparently. It was so bad the dog wouldn't even eat it!

Classic Minestrone
I didn't have a leek so I used an onion and also used chicken broth instead of veg. Thought it had a nice fresh taste. Simple recipe... I liked it!
