Grandma Storm's No Bake Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This is the only no bake cookie recipe I have had success with. It's not too sweet either.

Italian Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This was so good my 8 yr old son ate 2 bowls! I did have to make some changes based on what i had. I used frozen peas and carrots. Added leaks and bite size pieces of cooked chicken breasts. This is a keeper!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
My 8 year old son, and 4 year old daughter really liked these. My 4 year old who normally passes up any cookie, ate 2 of these! I did make a couple changes, I used half brown sugar, half white, half butter, half Crisco. I like the fact that this only makes 4 dozen, because I really don't like making cookies, so this was just enough.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
Simply the best! I will never have to buy Taco seasoning again. I don't think you can get any closer to the store bought. But this tastes even better. At least you can control the heat and salt.

Chicken Tetrazzini for a Crowd

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2003
Very good. I have been looking for recipes that are going to be easy for my husband to chew, because he just got all his teeth pulled. He liked this very much. And my 2 year old said mmmmmm... I did make a change, I used Velveeta instead of cheddar. Because cheddar is so salty. I did sprinkle a little bit of the cheddar on top though. I have ideas of extras I could add to this. Fresh green beans, broccoli, whole corn, or shrimp instead or pork in place of chicken. And I don't know why you couldn't use a different pasta other then spaghetti. I didn't have any canned soup, so I just made a rue (butter and flour) and added enough milk to that, equivelent to the three cans listed. Then just added a 4oz can of mushrooms (not drained).

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2003
Very good. I omitted the 1 teaspoon salt called for, chesse has enough salt in it already. The only thing I would do different is try a different chesse then cheddar. It was VERY salty, but cheddar is. I am thinking maybe swiss would be good, or even mozzarella. Or maybe I can find a lower sodium cheddar. My 2 year old gobbled it up!

Crispy Fish Fillets

Excellent! I only had a package of frozen whiting fillets. You would never know it was an inexpensive fish that I used. My mom, who hates fish, reluctently tried it, she ate 2 pieces!

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

This is what muffins are supposed to taste like, excellent. I want to suggest that you will want to use muffin papers. I had none, and the muffins crumbled when I tried to remove them.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
I love Lasagna, and this was the best I've had. I did leave out the salt though, Parmesan cheese is salty enough. I increased the garlic, and added 1 t. of Worcestershire to the sauce. And mushrooms. This is the first Lasagna I ever made that actually held while I took it out of the pan. So glad I tried it. Although next time I think I will go with the suggestions, and add 1 can tomato sauce. It was just a tad dry.

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2003
Well........I'm scratching my head over this one. I have made LOTS and I mean LOTS of bread and rolls over the years, with no problem. But this recipe was a complete failure. I decided to try them because of the majority of good reviews. Well, they didn't rise, and I always turn my oven down at least 25 degrees, because my oven runs hot. And these BURNED! So, they didn't raise and they burned. Why? I haven't a clue.. But at least the birds were happy.

Abby's Super Zucchini Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2003
I had just gone to the Farmer's market and came back with zucchini, that I had no idea what to do with. I've never made it before but wanted to try it. My husband said of all the zucchini bread he's had over the years, this is the best. It's very moist and delish. And he said, I could enter it in a contest, it's that good. This does take some work to make, but it's worth it. If you've never had zucchini bread, or have always not liked it because of the dryness, you definetly should try this recipe.

Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2003
This is excellent! I had some fresh leeks so I minced up a little and added it. I also added a LOT more garlic and onion. I followed the other reviewer and added 1/4 c. vinegar, WAAAAY to sour!! I had to add a 1/4 t. of brown sugar to neutralize some of the sour, (you don't taste the brown sugar). I would suggest starting out with 1 T. vinegar and go from there. The longer it sets in the frig. the more delicious it gets.

Kielbasa and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
I thought this sounded like it would be good. I'm sorry I made it. This has got to be one of the most disgusting meals, I have ever had the misfortune of trying. All I could taste was the grease from the sausage, and my mom and I also agreed, it had a funny taste.

Grandma Grippin's Brown Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2003
This was the WORST dessert I have ever had the misfortune of making. Honestly, I can't comprehend how anyone could like this. My mom, who always likes this kind of dessert, told my husband, "It taste worse then it looks." What is so delicious about cinnamon flavored biscuits, swimming in a sickingly sweet syrup??? Blech! Don't waste your time or ingredients!!

Potluck Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2003
We had a cook out tonight and I used this recipe to make hamburger rolls. Everyone loved them, and said I'm not to buy rolls anymore! Their soft with a very nice flavor. They were easy to make too. I've tried a couple other roll recipes from here that were very bland, but these rolls, I can say have a very nice taste.

Blender Chocolate Mousse

After reading the reviews, I cut back on the sugar, it was still waaaay to sweet. Plus, it didn't even have the consistency of mousse, it was watery. A waist of ingredients. How can someone publish such a rotton recipe??

Easiest Ever Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2003
This is very, very good! It's not too sweet. And the batter comes out moist. In fact, when I first took it out, I wasn't sure is was done. Because all I've ever had was my mom's cobbler, and I NEVER liked it. Her's was dry, very dry, like she made a cake and added fruit, blech (sorry mom). I think this might be good served with cream, or vanilla ice cream. If this is what fruit cobbler is supposed to taste like, I'll be making it often. Yum!

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2003
These are good. Next time though I will add more sugar, 4 T. instead of 2. I made the cloverleaf rolls, and it made 12 large rolls in my muffin pan. They rose up very nice, they are light and chewy inside, and crusty outside. It took 11 minutes in my oven.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
These are excellent! I followed GOURMETMOMMY'S advice, and they came out perfect. This is the first sweet treat where I actually liked the crust, it's light and soft. I agree with GOURMETMOMMY, I don't like any sweet treat "sickeningly sweet" either, and these have the perfect balance of sweet and tart. With GOURMETMOMMY'S modifications.
